As most of you readers are aware, the law on cannabis has just changed, to increase the drug classification system based on harm reduction, social, physical and mental harm.(more on this later)

Anyone who has tried amphetamine knows that it is extremely powerful in large doses, it causes psychosis, full blown psychosis, not to mention the risk of heart problems, speed should be Class A, poor mans cocaine, and that is class A.

Amphetamine is a class B drug, the same as Cannabis now is. The problem being raised, highlighted, excused is that cannabis causes mental health problems, this indicates mental damage therefore increasings its classification back to class B.

ALCOHOL, now heres the thing. How many studies, how much research, how many labs experiments, autopsy reports etc are needed before it is classified as an illegal drug.
It fits all the criteria; it is socially damaging, it is responsible for most violence on the streets and domestic violence. It is physically damaging to the liver, pancreas, heart and can significantly damage neurons in your brain. It too can be life threatening, as you can have seizures if abruptly stopped, or risks of accidents increase ten fold. It is classified as a POISON.

The time has come for there to be justification for the classification of drugs. The graph above indicates that alcohol is more dangerous than ecstasy, solvents, LSD, and GHB! The guidelines and the law is out dated and incorrect, and the reason cannabis has been reclassified is for political reasons, and NOT based on the amount of harm caused to the individual and society at large.

I have recently discovered a website, a blog, which is brutally opposed to other religions, other races, and other countries other than White, Republican Americans.....the site is called...."The American Jingoist"

The site exists purely, as far as I can make out, to encourage the eradication of Islam, it is a site of hatred for Muslims, and a despiser of any other race other than White American.

They even despise the U.K for their alleged, 'relaxed' views on terrorism, and acceptance of Muslims in general.....for this, I am more proud than ever to be British.

The website is filled with ignorance, and puritanical zeal, their sole purpose is to 'big up' Republican America, disrespect other political parties, but mainly with the sole intention of using 9/11 etc etc to blame the Muslim world for every problem that exists in Western Civilization today.

The website encourages hatred, has a disturbing, unbalanced, and dangerous ethos, with regard to distrust of the rest of the world, and smacks of media propaganda injected into the hearts and brains of, an otherwise, intelligent society of American Civilians.

All I ask is that readers of this blog, take the time to visit their site, and feel free to voice their opinion, although, it is likely to fall on extremely deaf ears, you will have some impact, if only to strengthen their views that Muslims have tainted our souls in some respect blah, blah, blah.....

How dare they, and by that, Barrack Obama, dare to mention dis-arming Republican America?!?!?! Do half-witted Americans who support the War on Terror, really have the right, or intelligence to have Arms? Key Internet Censorship Law Struck Down Yet Again

The ACLU, EFF, and a coalition of plaintiffs achieved yet another victory for online free speech this week when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit affirmed [decision, PDF] a district court's decision [decision, PDF] granting a permanent injunction against enforcement of the Child Online Protection Act of 1998 (COPA), a federal law that would violate the First Amendment by imposing civil and criminal penalties on commercial website operators that publish sexually explicit material without also using credit card authentication or other technological measures to verify viewer age and block access by minors.

COPA was passed after the Supreme Court struck down its predecessor, the Communications Decency Act of 1996 (CDA), in its landmark decision ACLU v. Reno, the first Supreme Court case to apply the First Amendment to online speech. This Tuesday's decision represents the third time the Third Circuit has held that COPA violates the First Amendment, after nearly ten years of litigation over the law's constitutionality, and as with those previous decisions, the DOJ is expected to seek review by the Supreme Court.

The fight over the CDA and COPA is almost as old as EFF itself, and was the original focus of one of our longest-running activism efforts, the Blue Ribbon Campaign to protect free speech online. Considering this seemingly never-ending legal battle to defend online free speech rights, it's easy to forget that the COPA fight still matters: the Supreme Court has yet to issue a final ruling on the law's constitutionality, and the threat of its eventually being applied--and lawful sexual speech on the Internet being stifled--is very real. So, when the issue once again goes before the Supreme Court, you can count on EFF to be there as a plaintiff, thanks to your continuing support.

Suspicionless laptop searches at U.S borders

The Ninth Circuit's recent ruling (pdf) in United States v. Arnold allows border patrol agents to search your laptop or other digital device without limitation when you are entering the country. EFF and many civil liberties, travelers’ rights, immigration advocacy and professional organizations are concerned that unfettered laptop searches endanger trade secrets, attorney-client communications, and other private information. These groups have signed a letter asking Congress to hold hearings to find out what protocol, if any, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) follows in searching digital devices and copying, storing and using travelers’ data. The letter also asks Congress to pass legislation protecting travelers’ laptops and smart phones from unlimited government scrutiny.

If privacy at the border is important to you, contact Congress now and ask them to take action!

In the meantime, how can international travelers protect themselves at the U.S. border, short of leaving their laptops and iPhones at home?

Many travelers practice security through obscurity. They simply hope that no border agent will rummage through their private data. Too many people enter the country each day for agents to thoroughly search every device that crosses the border, and there is too much information stored on most devices for agents to find the most revealing and confidential tidbits. But for travelers who may be targeted based on their celebrity, race or other distinguishing factor, obscurity is not an option. As last week's news that Microsoft is giving away forensic tools that can quickly search an entire hard drive on a USB “thumb drive” shows, it won't be long before customs agents can efficiently perform a thorough search on every machine. So long as there are no protocols or oversight for these searches, every traveler's personal information is at risk.

Encryption is one (imperfect) answer.

If you encrypt your hard drive with strong crypto, it will be prohibitively expensive for CBP to access your confidential information. This answer is imperfect for two reasons—one is practical, the other is technological.

Practically, the government has not disclosed CBP's laptop search practices, despite our Freedom of Information Act lawsuit for these documents. We don't know what a border patrol agent will do when confronted with an encrypted machine. One possibility is that the agent will simply give up and let the traveler pass with her belongings. Other possibilities are that the agent will turn the traveler and her machine away at the border, or that he will seize the laptop and allow the traveler to continue on. I suspect that on most occasions, CBP agents confronted with encrypted or password-protected data tell the owner to enter the password or get turned away, and the owner, eager to continue her voyage or to return home, simply complies.

If you don't want to comply, CBP cannot force you to decrypt your data or give over your password. Only a judge can force you to answer questions, and then only if the Fifth Amendment does not apply. While no Fifth Amendment right protects the data on your laptop or phone, one federal court has held that even a judge cannot force you to divulge your password when the act of revealing the password shows that you are the person with access to or control over potentially incriminating files. See In re Boucher, 2007 WL 4246473 (D. Vt. November 29, 2007).

If, however, you don't respond to CBP’s demands, the agency does have the authority to search, detain, and even prohibit you from entering the county. CBP has more authority to turn non-citizens away than it does to exclude U.S. persons from entering the country, but we don't know how the agents are allowed to use this authority to execute searches or get access to password protected information. CBP also has the authority to seize your property at the border. Agents cannot seize anything they like (for example, your wedding ring), but we do not know what standards agents are told to follow to determine whether they can and should take your laptop but let you by.

Technologically, encryption is imperfect because even strong crypto can be cracked when someone obtains the keys. Border agents can demand the keys from travelers unwilling to face seizure or detention. Agents may also be able to extract and use keys that are stored on the machine itself. Generally, if you keep your keys with the laptop, in your head or on your disk, then the encryption is easier to socially engineer or break than if you keep the keys elsewhere. (Discussion of what encryption techniques to use or avoid is beyond the scope of this post.)

Encryption aside, there may be other ways you can show CBP that your laptop is indeed a normal computer and that you mean no harm while keeping confidential information from prying eyes. Most operating systems let users to create multiple accounts on a single machine. A traveler could allow CBP to examine his own account, while storing client data or trade secrets in a separate account “owned” by his law firm or corporation. Under typical border search circumstances, this might satisfy CBP concerns. However, simply storing information in a different account—even one protected by a password—is not the same as encrypting it. If CBP is interested, the most commonly used forensic search tools can access and search non-encrypted data in every account on the machine.

Law firms, corporations and other entities that routinely deal with confidential information are handing their business travelers forensically clean laptops loaded with only what the traveler needs for that particular business trip. Leaving unnecessary data, like five years of email, behind may be the best thing. Of course, if trade secrets or client information are the reason for the trip, this plan will not help.

Another option is to bring a clean laptop and get the information you need over the internet once you arrive at your destination, send your work product back, and then delete the data before returning to the United States. Historically, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) generally prohibited warrantless interception of this information exchange. However, the Protect America Act amended FISA so that surveillance of people reasonably believed to be located outside the United States no longer requires a warrant. Your email or telnet session can now be intercepted without a warrant. If all you are concerned about is keeping border agents from rummaging through your revealing vacation photos, you may not care. If you are dealing with trade secrets or confidential client data, an encrypted VPN is a better solution.

Finally, however useful these techniques might be to protect laptops, travelers do not have this array of options for protecting data stored on less configurable smart phones. Of course, many phones do have a lock or password protection option, which travelers might consider enabling before heading to the airport.

In sum, while you must submit yourself and your electronic devices to warrantless and suspicionless searches at the border, you are not legally obligated to decrypt information or reveal passwords. However, if you fail to do so, the border agents may detain or search you, or even seize the device. There are no options that provide perfect privacy protection, but there are some options that reduce the likelihood that a legitimate international traveler's confidential information will be subjected to arbitrary and capricious examination.

Example Security Precaution

Attorney Alice needs to have confidential attorney-client privileged information overseas. Before departure, she removes unnecessary information, encrypts her hard drive with strong crypto and sets up a login for a protected account and a travel account on her computer. To access the confidential data, one would need to first login to the protected account, and then open the encrypted files. Only Alice’s employer (The Law Offices of Bob) knows the passwords to the account and encrypted data, and keeps them secret until Alice arrives at her destination. Bob then sends the passwords to Alice in an encrypted email message.

Impermanence

Nothing remains the same for two consecutive moments. Heraclitus said we can never bathe twice in the same river. Confucius, while looking at a stream, said, "It is always flowing, day and night."

The Buddha implored us not just to talk about impermanence, but to use it as an instrument to help us penetrate deeply into reality and obtain liberating insight. We may be tempted to say that because things are impermanent, there is suffering. But the Buddha encouraged us to look again. Without impermanence, life is not possible. How can we transform our suffering if things are not impermanent? How can our daughter grow up into a beautiful young lady? How can the situation in the world improve? We need impermanence for social justice and for hope.

If you suffer, it is not because things are impermanent. It is because you believe things are permanent. When a flower dies, you don't suffer much, because you understand that flowers are impermanent. But you cannot accept the impermanence of your beloved one, and you suffer deeply when she passes away.

If you look deeply into impermanence, you will do your best to make her happy right now. Aware of impermanence, you become positive, loving and wise. Impermanence is good news. Without impermanence, nothing would be possible. With impermanence, every door is open for change. Impermanence is an instrument for our liberation.

On one occasion the Buddha asked several of the monks, "How often do you contemplate death?"

One of them replied, "Lord, I contemplate death every day."

"Not good enough," the Buddha said, and asked another monk, who replied,"Lord, I contemplate death with each mouthful that I eat during the meal."

"Better, but not good enough," said the Buddha, "What about you?"The third monk said, "Lord, I contemplate death with each inhalation and each exhalation."

That's all it takes, the inhalation comes in, it goes out, and one day it won't come in again - and that's it. That's all there is between you and death, just that inhalation, the next inhalation.

European stance on Illegal, Warrantless Wiretapping

~ Their has been Global outrage, admittedly from free-thinking, liberal individuals, and civil rights activists, about the recent scandal about the U.S' Illegal, Warrantless Wiretapping program, which has 'officially' stemmed from the Clinton administration, but more recently with George W. Bushs' obsession with Muslim fundamentalists and the American-funded Jihad in general. The World of EyeCeyE questions the reasons for political 'silence' on the subject in Europe; have we got something to hide, perhaps? ~

For Europeans, scolding the Bush administration for everything from Guantanamo to the Iraq War to secret CIA prisons has become a full-time job. But when it comes to the American scandal over President Bush's warrantless wiretaps, there's been a curious reaction from the other side of the Atlantic: silence. Where is the European outrage?

European restraint may arise from a fear of hypocrisy. The fact is that in much of Europe wiretapping is de rigueur—practiced more regularly and with less oversight than in the United States. Most Europeans either don't know about this or, more likely, simply don't care.

The extensive European taps are not new developments, made in the heat of passion after the London and Madrid bombings. European governments have been bugging phones for decades. In theory, the European Convention on Human Rights forbids "arbitrary wiretapping," but, as we've learned in the United States, arbitrary is in the ear of the wiretapper.

The three worst offenders are not countries you would suspect of playing fast and loose with civil liberties: Britain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Italian officials conduct tens of thousands of wiretaps each year. Technically, judicial approval is needed but since judges in Italy are "investigative," meaning they act more like our prosecutors, there is essentially no check on law enforcement's ability to eavesdrop.

In Britain, police have an even easier time tapping phones. The home secretary, a Cabinet minister, approves all wiretaps. Judges have nothing to do with it.

Or, to put it in American terms, imagine Homeland Secretary Michael Chertoff authorizing wiretaps of anyone he deems fit—only without the pesky questions from the media and Congress.

Gus Hosein, an analyst with Privacy International, calculates that, given the number of wiretaps in the U.K., the home secretary approves a new wiretap every few seconds. "Obviously, it's impossible to give it the attention it needs," says Hosein. Britain did recently establish an Interception of Communications Commissioner, but he has limited authority; his main job is tallying the number of annual wiretaps. The only Brits safe from wiretapping are members of Parliament, though after the London bombing, there is now a move afoot to revoke their immunity.

Britain's lax attitude toward telephone privacy dates back to the 1920s, when the British government owned the phone company. There was no need for court approval of wiretaps, since, in a way, the government would be asking itself for that approval.

The Netherlands has the highest rate of wiretapping of any European country—a surprising fact, given the country's reputation for cozy coffee bars, not invasive police tactics. Dutch police can tap any phone they like, so long as the crime under investigation carries at least a three-year jail term.

Washington's biggest European critic—France—also has a serious wiretapping habit, as Marc Perelman points out in Foreign Policy: "In addition to judicially ordered taps there are also 'administrative wiretaps' decided by security agencies under the control of the government." Perelman argues that most French know about these policies but don't seem to care, despite clear cases of abuse in the past. Most prominent is the Elysée Scandal—named after the palace where the late President Francois Mitterrand set up an undercover listening room. Mitterrand's operatives tapped the calls of his political enemies: lawyers, businessmen, journalists, and even the actress and Chanel model Carole Bouquet. This took place in the mid-1980s but only surfaced recently, and 12 conspirators were brought to trial. What's interesting—and disturbing—about the Elysée Scandal is that at the time, French authorities had justified the surveillance as a necessary tool to fight terrorism.

In 2006, in one of the more bizarre cases of Euro-tapping, Greek officials acknowledged that 100 cell-phone lines were tapped during the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Oddly, all those targeted were involved with national security, including Prime Minster Kostas Karamanlis. Vodafone, the mobile phone company, learned of the wiretapping when customers complained they were not receiving their messages and calls. An investigation revealed that someone had installed spy software. It's not clear who was tapping the phones or why.

European police aren't listening only to conversations; now they have access to other details of phone use. In December, the European parliament approved new rules requiring telecommunications companies to retain customers' telephone and Internet records for up to two years. The directive passed in record time, despite objections from phone companies and Internet providers (all that record-keeping is expensive), as well as privacy advocates. This means that European authorities can tell not only what was said in a phone call, but who was on the other end and where they were located. The United States lobbied hard for this new EU policy, even though telecommunications companies in this country are under no such record-keeping obligation.

When it comes to consumer information, Europeans guard their privacy much more fiercely than Americans do. European companies can't legally share most consumer information, and cases of identity theft are much less common.

So, why are Europeans so nonchalant when it comes to government eavesdropping? One reason is that sometimes it works. When Osman Hussain, a suspect in the botched July 21 London bombing, fled Britain, police traced his journey—across the United Kingdom to France and then Italy, where he was arrested—by tapping his cell phone.

There is a cultural explanation, too. Europeans tend to trust their private information with governments, not corporations. So, while they wouldn't dream of divulging their credit card number to a telemarketer they will gladly hand it over to a government clerk. The state is seen as more benevolent than those greedy, Americanized corporations.

And Europeans have no equivalent to the American Constitution, which enshrines the right of individuals to be free from government coercion. Privacy International's Hosein draws on this constitutional tradition when he explains why Europeans don't bristle at wiretapping that would appall Americans. In Europe, he notes, there are plenty of pressure groups fighting for the rights of consumers, but very few lobbying on behalf of citizens. There is no European equivalent of the ACLU, pushing back against government intrusions. So, next time you're in Europe, feel free to hand out your credit card number willy-nilly. Just be careful what you say on the phone.

Arthur C. Clarke R.I.P

VISIONARY science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke died today in Sri Lanka at the age of 90.

He died of respiratory complications and heart failure that doctors ascribed to a post-polio syndrome, which had kept him in a wheelchair for years.

Born in Somerset, England on December 16 (EyeCeyE's Birthday) 1917, Clarke served in the Royal Air Force as a radar specialist during World War II and graduated from Kings College, London in physics and mathematics after the war.

Clarke is credited with first having the idea for geosynchronous satellites in a landmark technical paper published in 1945. Today the geostationary orbit at 36,000 km (22,370 miles) above the equator is named The Clarke Orbit by the International Astronomical Union and is well populated with communications satellites.

More recently, he promoted construction of tethered space elevators as more efficient means to reach Earth orbit. He had lately predicted that space tourism would become very popular and that man would travel beyond Earth orbit and the Moon to the planets and beyond.

In the 1940s he predicted that man would land on the Moon before the year 2000. His prediction was initially ridiculed as preposterous but his vision was vindicated when US astronauts touched down on the moon in 1969.

The prolific author produced about 100 science fiction books and hundreds of short stories and articles during his writing career. He was best known for writing the stories behind the films "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "2010: The Year We Make Contact" and advising the movie productions. Tens of millions of people all over the world have watched those films over the years and they are regarded by many as among the greatest movies ever made.

With an uninterrupted writing career spanning more than 60 years, Clarke was regarded as one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers, alongside Russian born Isaac Asimov, who died in 1992, and US native Robert Heinlein, who died in 1988. He based his writing on scientific facts and theories rather than fantasy and kept humanity and its consciousness, evolution and ultimate destinations central to his technologically themed works.

Clarke moved to Sri Lanka, which was then called Ceylon, in 1955 and spent most of the rest of his life there.

In observing his "90th orbit of the Sun" in December, Clarke expressed three birthday wishes: for ET to call, for man to kick his oil habit and for peace in Sri Lanka. He finished proof-reading the galleys of his latest novel "The Last Theorem" only days ago.

He is survived by his brother, who is travelling to Colombo for the funeral later this week. In his final instructions, Clarke explicitly requested a private, secular funeral, with "Absolutely no religious rites of any kind."

May he transit among the stars in peace.

IRA Bombing Victims are Remembered!

A memorial event has been held to remember those who were killed and injured in the IRA bombing of Warrington town centre 15 years ago.
Tim Parry, 12, and Johnathan Ball, three, died and 56 people were hurt in the explosions on 20 March 1993.

Town leaders, representatives of local organisations and the community have paid tribute to the victims.

Flowers were laid at the site in what has been called a celebration of peace by Warrington Borough Council.

The two bombs, which had been placed in litter bins, went off in Bridge Street - an area packed with shoppers, many looking for Mother's Day gifts.

Johnathan had been in the town with his babysitter to buy a card for his mother.

Quite why they chose this town was beyond comprehension - I didn't know then and I still don't know now. ~ Colin Parry

Tim, an avid Everton fan, had been shopping for football shorts when he caught the full force of the blast. He died in hospital five days later.

Despite one of the biggest murder investigations ever launched by Cheshire Police at the time, the bombers have never been caught.

On Thursday, a police spokeswoman said: "Two boys lost their lives that day, no-one was brought to justice and our files will always remain open."

In the aftermath of the bombing, Tim's father Colin Parry set up a charity, the Foundation for Peace, which runs educational programmes.

Known locally as the Peace Centre, it has also acted as a support service for people bereaved, injured or traumatized in trouble linked to Northern Ireland.

Mr Parry said: "There was absolutely no reason why a town such as Warrington should be hit by the IRA.

Colin Parry has campaigned for conflict resolution:

"Quite why they chose this town was beyond comprehension. I didn't know then and I still don't know now."

Despite being forced to deal with the tragedy of losing his son, Mr Parry said the bombing had a "significant" impact on the peace process in Northern Ireland.

"I think it was that event in Warrington that compelled the Irish government to sit down with the English government in a way they had never considered before," said Mr Parry.

"That's when change began to happen and all of that, in my opinion, was changed by Tim's and Johnathan's deaths."

Rev Steven Kingsnorth, of the Warrington Borough Ministry, said the town had worked hard to turn the tragedy into something positive.

"We made a mark in saying we will not let death and evil have the last word and I think that legacy remains," said Mr Kingsnorth.

"There are still people in the community who look back sadly at the day but still remember the good things that came out of it."

The service on Thursday was seen as a chance to reflect and give thanks to those in Warrington involved in helping to rebuild the town.

Council leader Ian Marks said: "Warrington is united in its thoughts and prayers as we reflect on the events of 15 years ago and pay tribute to those who lost their lives and were deeply affected."

~Finally the media remember a perfect example of real terrorism, not just, government-endorsed propaganda which does nothing but 'incite racism'. Yes, the IRA frequently bombed our country for no apparent reasons other than to terrorise us into relinquishing our ownership over Northern Ireland. How did it affect our air travel? How did it affect our freedoms and civil liberties as a whole? How did it affect law and changes to the law system? Introducing the Dogs Of War!

Hundreds of these 'war dogs' (see film below) will be ready to go to war soon. From a bunker back in Virginia, the controller deciding which targets the dog has sighted are worthy kills won't be using a keyboard or a mouse. He or she will be able to think where the war dog goes and who it kills. Bluetooth in the brain. With the help of its distant instructor, it will learn over time to decide for itself when to kill.( I very much doubt that it will be able to decide on the right target when the U.S troops themselves frequently cause, so-called friendly fire on our British soldiers in Iraq, how the hell can a robot decide?!)

All these things were science fiction, today, next year, they are reality.

I'm still not sure which demonstration is more disturbing. The hopping test, where it shows it can easily leap a wall. Or the rock test, where it just keeps coming at you. You can't kick it over. If you manage to knock it down, it will just get back up again, and they are designed to carry weaponry up to 300Ibs in weight.

i09 has a few more clips of the 'war dog'. Creepy stuff indeed if you feel uneasy about the rise of robot armies. Watch it coming through the woods, and righting itself after slipping on ice. It looks like it was modeled on two men bending over from the waist, facing each other. These clips are already a year or two old. Do you wonder what it's capable of doing now?

I am still eagerly awaiting future footage of the War Dogs carrying weaponry. The major problem with this type of technology is that the user, will kill people without any feelings of guilt, or appropriate decision-making. It will be as surreal as playing a video game on the Xbox 360! But if they plan on 'teaching' the robots to kill autonomously, then even more 'innocent civilians' will be killed in the future. Does anyone remember AMIE, the automated robot dog in the film, RED PLANET? The robot malfunctioned and killed all the allies. How many innocents will have to die before they remove them from the war, and what if they go missing? Or what happens if, or when, they are stolen by the enemy? Will we see terrorist suicide bombing war dogs? Can't wait!

This is another chance to watch the full unedited version of Saddam Hussein being hanged for Crimes Against Humanity.

Now he has received the full punishment of the law, how about we start discussing other Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes in general? Why is it that George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and the US/UK sanction regime, in general, get off 'scot-free' from their crimes against humanity and war crimes? Especially as it has now been firmly established that the Iraq War was (or is) illegal, and immoral, not to mention completely out of control. There was little reporting in the press about how the Americans on a number of occasions prevented aid, water and vaccines into Iraq (and Afghanistan),at a time when they were dying in droves from diseased water supplies. Despite this, they blamed Saddam for not complying with the United Nations. You do not punish the innocent civilians when trying to attack a brutal tryrant!

It is apparent that there is one law for one (usually Westernised, Christian leaders), and one law for another (those who read the Qu'ran or are sitting on valuable Oil reserves)? I do not believe that hanging is necessarily deserved for either party, but some acknowledgment that their (US/UK) decision was flawed, and, as in the picture above, innocent people have most definitely suffered.

Saddam Hussein was tried for Crimes against Humanity, mainly because of the mass gassing of the Kurds in the late eighties, but a year after the gassing in 1989, the U.S made the political decision that it was better for foreign relations (meaning for the price of Oil) to continue the pleasantries between them and Iraq, and subsequently, lifted the ban on loans to the country! A bit hypocritical I am sure you will agree, and highlights that there was clearly an ulterior motive behind their attack on Iraq. That combined with the lack of evidence for the Weapons of Mass Destruction (remember when there was little else talked of, in the media?) and you have a clearer picture of the truth. The alleged 'relations' between Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein have been proven completely false, and quite the opposite, with Al Qaeda posing a direct threat potentially to Saddam's regime.

I guess everyone needs a scapegoat?! Especially when 'terrorism' was so desperately 'needed' to allow the American Oligarchy to be fully established as the world's leaders and the world's police force. When you are becoming unfavourable in the eyes of the citizens, one option of escape is to 'incite fear'. And here we are, a world terrified of terror, well, I'm sorry, but I am NOT scared! I was far more afraid of a real threat from terrorism, such as when we were frequently terrorised by the IRA in the U.K. I remember the bombs, but for some reason, there was no hysteria compared to the 'Al Qaeda hysteria' that is rife nowadays in the Western world. I do not fall for the propaganda, sorry! I also remember that the British government adopted a low-key, non-panic attitude. In 1996 the Arndale Centre in Manchester was bombed at a cost of £411 million, and still nothing compared to the very minor threat posed by the Al Qaeda regime. Why?!

Maybe, like the Russian blogger (see below) this article will be classed as 'inciting hatred' and I could be sent to prison for speaking for the masses, then so be it! I am not a sheep, and I will not 'shut up' for your sakes, I will fight for justice, no matter the cost, and I believe in Freedom of Speech! The truth is that the hatred is already there, and if the U.S continue stomping on the rest of the world's toes, with their mega-lo-maniacal, hegemonious, 'neocon' fundamentalist attitudes, they will have very few friends indeed, just like Saddam, in the end. Don't get me wrong, Saddam probably deserved his fate for the gassing of innocent civilians, and I cannot justify bio-chemical warfare in any shape or form, but if he receives the judgment of death for his crimes, and across the pond (in the U.S) the leader receives another term in power, something is very, very wrong with the system as a whole! That said, when bio-chemical warfare has been illegal in war since Vietnam, when the U.S troops would tear gas the Vietnames soldiers and open fire when they staggered out blindly, Why do the U.S troops in Iraq have C.S gas cannisters?!? Parents will be told that they must allow their children to be searched at any time within school premises if they want to get them into the schools of their choice, under new plans to rid Britain’s classrooms of the scourge of knives.

The Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, will put the battle against illegal weapons at the top of her agenda when she unveils her Tackling Violence Action Plan tomorrow. The blueprint for tackling knife-related violence will include a radical move to give police hundreds of metal detectors to catch young people carrying hidden weapons in schools, clubs and pubs.

The proposal to introduce “airport-style” security, particularly in schools identified as facing the greatest danger from the knife-crime epidemic, represents a remarkable U-turn for the Government, which had previously dismissed the idea as an overreaction.

But the proposals will also shift more responsibility on to parents, with a plan to make them sign up to tougher scanning and searching policies as a condition of entry when their children first apply for a school place.

~ This is yet another case of the government failing to address the REAL PROBLEM, and that is why do kids want to carry knives? Stop blaming the computer games, and the rap artists, and start remembering the function of the body politic. Searching school children is only going to make them more resentful towards authority, and angry, it will do nothing to resolve the issues facing society today. UK Police Want to Designate Children as Criminals Based on DNA

Primary school children should be eligible for the DNA database if they exhibit behaviour indicating they may become criminals in later life, according to Britain’s most senior police forensics expert.

Gary Pugh, director of forensic sciences at Scotland Yard and the new DNA spokesman for the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), said a debate was needed on how far Britain should go in identifying potential offenders, given that some experts believe it is possible to identify future offending traits in children as young as five.

‘If we have a primary means of identifying people before they offend, then in the long-term the benefits of targeting younger people are extremely large,’ said Pugh. ‘You could argue the younger the better. Criminologists say some people will grow out of crime; others won’t. We have to find who are possibly going to be the biggest threat to society.’

Pugh admitted that the deeply controversial suggestion raised issues of parental consent, potential stigmatisation and the role of teachers in identifying future offenders, but said society needed an open, mature discussion on how best to tackle crime before it took place. There are currently 4.5 million genetic samples on the UK database - the largest in Europe - but police believe more are required to reduce crime further. ‘The number of unsolved crimes says we are not sampling enough of the right people,’ Pugh told The Observer. However, he said the notion of universal sampling - everyone being forced to give their genetic samples to the database - is currently prohibited by cost and logistics.

Civil liberty groups condemned his comments last night by likening them to an excerpt from a ’science fiction novel’. One teaching union warned that it was a step towards a ‘police state’.

~This is an outrageous proposal, and one we should insist on boycotting. To pre-judge a childs potential behaviour, be it criminal or not, is an impossible task. What we are talking about is, not only trying to predict events that have yet to occur, but also we are talking about punishing a child for a crime they didn't commit. This is not only pre-crime, which in itself is ludicrous, but it is also yet another situation where thought-crime can become the social and legal norm. What ever happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'? It is simply wrong to even entertain these ideas, and as a nation we are responsible not to sit back and rest on our laurels, we must take action to prevent the 'police state' from taken full control over our freedoms and civil liberties. What the government should be doing with the information is addressing the issues it raises such as problems in the education system, or the family system, and put in place measures to ensure the child receives adequate care and attention and does not commit the crimes, they have so 'wisely' decided the child is going to commit! Not just stick them on a DNA database and wait to lock them up, in the already crowded prison system. As for the stigma attached to those potential criminals, look at what has happened with the ASBO, all it has done is encourage youths to be criminal, they have been stigmatised, and not treated or helped for their problems, which usually are political in nature in the first place. So to the government, if you were doing your job correctly in the first place to address problems in the education system and in family values, and to address poverty at large, most of these juvenile offenders would not be created in the first place.~ EyeCeyE

Doctors and teachers are to act as ‘informers’ to target violent offenders BEFORE they strike under controversial new ‘Minority Report’ plans

Doctors, teachers and social workers will be told to act as informers to identify potential violent offenders for monitoring by the police and other agencies.

Ministers hope that by spotting binge-drinkers, drug addicts and young gang members early before they commit serious crimes they can be placed on a national database and steered away from offending behaviour.

The plans have been dubbed the Minority Report powers, a reference to the 2002 Tom Cruise movie in which a futuristic “precrime” police unit uses psychics to arrest and imprison criminals just before they carry out attacks.

But civil liberty campaigners and union bosses warned that such intrusive measures by the Home Office would destroy the relationship of trust between GPs and their patients or social workers and clients.

They would also put professionals at risk of reprisals if they are seen as police informers.

Opposition MPs said recent fiascos involving huge quantities of personal data lost or leaked by the Government raised grave doubts over plans for sharing and swapping private data.

The scheme, outlined in the Government’s latest Tackling Violence Action Plan, will mean redrafting the NHS’s strict privacy protection rules to encourage health staff to share patients’ confidential data as part of “public interest disclosures”.

Russian Blogger faces Arrest!

MOSCOW (AP) - Prosecutors have charged a Russian blogger who wrote on a popular Internet site that police should be publicly incinerated in what is believed to be the country’s first such case against a blogger.

Savva Terentyev said Wednesday he was charged with inciting hatred in a court in the northern city of Syktyvkar. The charges filed Tuesday stemmed from his posting on a Web forum in February 2007 that criticized police in the wake of a raid on an opposition newspaper.

“They’re trash—and those that become cops are simply trash, dumb, uneducated representatives of the animal world,” he wrote. “It would be good if in the center of every town in Russia … an oven was built, like at Auschwitz, in which ceremonially, every day, and better yet, twice a day … the infidel cops were burnt. This would be the first step toward cleaning society of these cop-hoodlum scum.”

The case comes at a time of growing concerns in Russia that authorities have begun to tighten control over the Internet.

Web logs, online newspapers, chat rooms and other Internet sites have emerged as a vibrant source of critical news and commentary in Russia, compared with much of the national media.

During outgoing President Vladimir Putin eight years in office, much of the once-critical mainstream media has been brought to heel. Major television stations have been taken over by the state, or by state- owned corporations. Reporters often resort to self-censorship fearing retribution by officials.

The RIA-Novosti news agency said Terentyev could face a $12,600 fine if convicted.

Internet experts say Terentyev’s case is the first time criminal charges have been brought against a blogger.

American Global Hegemony in Crisis!

American global hegemony - a core reality of the last 50 years - is under threat. Changes within the US, both techno-economic and political, and the rise of genuine alternative power centres are combining to threaten US dominance. Recent developments, especially the ongoing, messy war in Iraq, the failure to deal a telling blow against global terrorism, and the new fragility of the US dollar are all indications of imminent change.

The US ended World War II as the only clear winner. Not only was the US in great shape in terms of industrial, financial and military capability, but other developed nations were in bad shape. Britain was financially wrecked, France, Germany, Italy and Japan were physically devastated, and the Soviet Union was very weak except for its huge land army. The subsequent global hegemony achieved by the US was built on military power expressed by its nuclear deterrent and powerful conventional forces, industrial power increasingly in the form of large corporations, and the central role of the dollar in international economics.

While its nuclear deterrent kept the only real enemy, the Soviet Union, at bay, US industrial power translated into American transnational corporate penetration in an international economy based on the Bretton Woods financial regime. This set the scene for a revitalised global finance system, dominated by American or American-run institutions, including private banks, the IMF and the World Bank. By the mid- 1980s, the mix of transnational corporate activity (now including firms from Japan, Europe and even some less developed nations) and global finance markets were so well developed and integrated the term “globalisation” came to be used to describe the emerging new world order.

By this time US industrial decline was well advanced, with firms from Japan, Europe and the fast developing East Asian “tigers” out-competing American firms in core markets like automobiles, white goods and even computers. Increasingly, however, American corporate activity was shifting into “knowledge-based” production and finance, exploiting the still central position of the US in global financial and institutional (for example WTO) arrangements.

The end of the Cold War in 1990 allowed the US to rethink its global military posture, which was already undergoing constant change to due to rapidly evolving technology. The US military opted for ever more high-technology solutions, and a renewed advance into space, focused around ballistic missile defence.

A series of events have shown the underlying weakness of the US position, now based so firmly on the twin pillars of the central role of the dollar and ever more technology-based global military power. It is telling that this situation parallels the predicament of the previous global hegemon, Britain, which relied more and more on the Royal Navy and sterling to maintain its global role as Germany and the US undermined its industrial leadership at the turn of the century.

First, the increasingly volatile oil supply situation as the US became dependent on Middle East oil (which is likely approaching peak production) led to a long entanglement with Iraq, the last, and ongoing, military phase of which showed the problems with the small, high-tech army policy. Secondly, there is the questionable willingness of the rest of the developed world to support huge US deficits and maintain the strong dollar. This has been exacerbated by the current Bush administration’s fiscal and international relations policies, which indicate a growing unilateralism. That is, the US seems increasingly unwilling, or unable, to accept the global systemic responsibilities of global hegemony.

The Middle East, and especially Iraq, is the prime site of the American dilemma. First, the intention of the Iraq government to opt out of the system where oil markets traded in US dollars in favour of the Euro, announced in November 2000, was a serious blow to the role of the dollar as de facto global currency, with all the privileges that entailed. The way in which the US subsequently invaded Iraq, and the overall failure of the occupation to achieve peace, has greatly damaged US credibility. This has eroded its capacity to form military and diplomatic alliances and may be behind the growing lack of confidence in the dollar, reflected in its volatility over recent times. In effect, with a strong Euro there are now two currencies vying for global primacy.

Whether this erosion of American hegemonic position is structural, and had to happen sooner or later, or was brought about by inept leadership, is debateable. The rise of a united Europe, with a bigger GDP than the US, and the continuing growth surge of China, in themselves present challenges to US supremacy. Furthermore, there are signs that an alliance of less developed countries, led by Brazil, is emerging to challenge the US-based “Washington consensus” which governs global economic relations. It would seem inevitable that the relative position of the US - to a certain extent the result of the extreme exigencies of global war from 1914 to 1945 - would have to decline.

But there can be little doubt that the attitudes of the current American leadership - led by a president heavily influenced by simplistic, religion-based notions and largely run by ideological extremists (known as “neocons”) - has made the possibility of a reconstruction of global conditions around more equitably negotiated arrangements much less likely.

Of course, the need to find global solutions to global problems like climate change, disease and unbalanced economic development demand more than ever a functioning global system. The question is whether the US can step down from its position of unique power and join such a project. After all, American global military reach is undiminished, and provides a powerful card to play. But a century ago the then hegemon, Britain, found that once the basic advantages arising out of economic primacy had gone, hegemony could not be maintained by military power alone.

EFF Applauds House Passage of Surveillance Bill with No Telecom Immunity

Bill Would Allow Spying Cases to Proceed Fairly and Securely
Washington, D.C. - This morning the House of Representatives passed a compromise surveillance bill that does not include retroactive immunity for phone companies alleged to have assisted in the NSA's warrantless wiretapping program. The bill would allow lawsuits like the Electronic Frontier Foundation's case against AT&T to proceed while providing specific security procedures allowing the telecom giants to defend themselves in court.

The House bill succeeded 213 to 197 despite the president's threat to veto any bill that does not include immunity.

"We applaud the House for refusing to grant amnesty to lawbreaking telecoms, and for passing a bill that would allow our lawsuit against AT&T to proceed fairly and securely," said Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Senior Staff Attorney Kevin Bankston. "Amnesty proponents have been claiming on the Hill for months that phone companies like AT&T had a good faith belief that the NSA program was legal. Under this bill, the companies could do what they should have been able to do all along: tell that story to a judge."

The Senate is expected to consider the House bill when it returns from recess on Monday, March 31. House and Senate staff are expected to spend much of the break negotiating over differences between the new House bill and a previous Senate bill that includes immunity provisions.

"This newly-passed House bill represents a true compromise on the amnesty issue: customers whose privacy was violated would get their day in court, while the companies would be allowed to defend themselves despite the Administration's broad demands for secrecy," said EFF Legal Director Cindy Cohn. "We look forward to assisting the Senate in its consideration of this compromise solution, which EFF believes is the only reasonable response to the White House's attempt to evade court review of its illegal spying program and the phone companies' collaboration in it."

EFF represents the plaintiffs in Hepting v. AT&T, a class-action lawsuit brought by AT&T customers accusing the telecommunications company of violating their rights by illegally assisting the National Security Agency in widespread domestic surveillance. The Hepting case is the leading case aimed at holding telecoms responsible for knowingly violating federal privacy laws with warrantless wiretapping and the illegal transfer of vast amounts of personal data to the government.

Positive Discrimination

Positive Discrimination is wrong. By definition it basically encourages discrimination and does nothing to address the problems in society today.

Positive Discrimination is when a person of an ethnic minority or minority group generally gains a position or employment because of their status and not because of their merits.

When they commence their new jobs they are immediately resented because they got the job by default and insane litigation against Caucasians, males, and alleged majority groups. The person who gains a position of significance also does not perform to his/her's best ability because they know the reasons for their successful achievement (if thats what you can call it), and therefore do not feel empowered in any way. They know they have not got the job on their merits only their colour, creed, class or gender.

Surely, for every 'positive discrimination' there is evidence of simple 'discrimination' against the majority groups, hence the above headline from the, intellectually challenged, tabloid above.

This has got to stop, this is NOT the solution to the problem of discrimination, but employment and status given on a persons merits is the key. Educating individuals and Corporations on the benefits of a diverse range of employees is the only way to avoid this 'blanket' discrimination in the future.

This legislation encourages discrimination and resentment, and can even separate and breed racism fundamentally.

Stop 'Positive Discrimination' because there is nothing positive about it!

~As mentioned in previous posts on The World Of EyeCeyE, the USA have finally begun their take-over of Africa's resources and will commence their 'big plan' to systematically 'consumerize' African citizens. The pursuit of happiness has been replaced with the pursuit of OIL!~

In February 2007 the White House announced the formation of the US African Command (AFRICOM), a new unified Pentagon command center in Africa, to be established by September 2008. This military penetration of Africa is being presented as a humanitarian guard in the Global War on Terror. The real objective is, however, the procurement and control of Africa’s oil and its global delivery systems.
The most significant and growing challenge to US dominance in Africa is China. An increase in Chinese trade and investment in Africa threatens to substantially reduce US political and economic leverage in that resource-rich continent. The political implication of an economically emerging Africa in close alliance with China is resulting in a new cold war in which AFRICOM will be tasked with achieving full-spectrum military dominance over Africa.
AFRICOM will replace US military command posts in Africa, which were formerly under control of US European Command (EUCOM) and US Central Command (CENTCOM), with a more centralized and intensified US military presence.
A context for the pending strategic role of AFRICOM can be gained from observing CENTCOM in the Middle East. CENTCOM grew out of the Carter Doctrine of 1980 which described the oil flow from the Persian Gulf as a “vital interest” of the US, and affirmed that the US would employ “any means necessary, including military force” to overcome an attempt by hostile interests to block that flow.
It is in Western and Sub-Saharan Africa that the US military force is most rapidly increasing, as this area is projected to become as important a source of energy as the Middle East within the next decade. In this region, challenge to US domination and exploitation is coming from the people of Africa—most specifically in Nigeria, where seventy percent of Africa’s oil is contained.
People native to the Niger Delta region have not benefited, but instead suffered, as a result of sitting on top of vast natural oil and natural gas deposits. Nigerian people’s movements are demanding self-determination and equitable sharing of oil-receipts. Environmental and human rights activists have, for years, documented atrocities on the part of oil companies and the military in this region. As the tactics of resistance groups have shifted from petition and protest to more proactive measures, attacks on pipelines and oil facilities have curtailed the flow of oil leaving the region. As a Convergent Interests report puts it, “Within the first six months of 2006, there were nineteen attacks on foreign oil operations and over $2.187 billion lost in oil revenues; the Department of Petroleum Resources claims this figure represents 32 percent of ‘the revenue the country [Nigeria] generated this year.’”
Oil companies and the Pentagon are attempting to link these resistance groups to international terror networks in order to legitimize the use of the US military to “stabilize” these areas and secure the energy flow. No evidence has been found however to link the Niger Delta resistance groups to international terror networks or jihadists. Instead the situation in the Niger Delta is that of ethnic-nationalist movements fighting, by any means necessary, toward the political objective of self-determination. The volatility surrounding oil installations in Nigeria and elsewhere in the continent is, however, used by the US security establishment to justify military “support” in African oil producing states, under the guise of helping Africans defend themselves against those who would hinder their engagement in “Free Trade.”
The December 2006 invasion of Somalia was coordinated using US bases throughout the region. The arrival of AFRICOM will effectively reinforce efforts to replace the popular Islamic Courts Union of Somalia with the oil industry–friendly Transitional Federal Government. Meanwhile, the persistent Western calls for “humanitarian intervention” into the Darfur region of Sudan sets up another possibility for military engagement to deliver regime change in another Islamic state rich in oil reserves.
Hunt warns that this sort of “support” is only bound to increase as rhetoric of stabilizing Africa makes the dailies, copied directly out of official AFRICOM press releases. Readers of the mainstream media can expect to encounter more frequent usage of terms like “genocide” and “misguided.” He notes that already corporate media decry China’s human rights record and support for Sudan and Zimbabwe while ignoring the ongoing violations of Western corporations engaged in the plunder of natural resources, the pollution other peoples’ homelands, and the “shoring up” of repressive regimes.
In FY 2005 the Trans-Sahara Counter Terrorism Initiative received $16 million; in FY 2006, nearly $31 million. A big increase is expected in 2008, with the administration pushing for $100 million each year for five years. With the passage of AFRICOM and continued promotion of the Global War on Terror, Congressional funding is likely to increase significantly.
In the end, regardless of whether it’s US or Chinese domination over Africa, the blood spilled will be African. Hunt concludes, “It does not require a crystal ball or great imagination to realize what the increased militarization of the continent through AFRICOM will bring to the peoples of Africa.”

By spring 2007, US Department of Energy data showed that the United States now imports more oil from the continent of Africa than from the country of Saudi Arabia. While this statistic may be of surprise to the majority, provided such information even crosses their radar, it’s certainly not the case for those figures who have been pushing for increased US military engagement on that continent for some time now, as my report documented. These import levels will rise.
In the first few months following the official announcement of AFRICOM, details are still few. It’s expected that the combatant command will be operational as a subunit of EUCOM by October 2007, transitioning to a full-fledged stand-alone command some twelve months later. This will most likely entail the re-locating of AFRICOM headquarters from Stuttgart, Germany, where EUCOM is headquartered, to an African host country.
In April, US officials were traversing the continent to present their sales pitch for AFRICOM and to gauge official and public reaction. Initial perceptions are, not surprisingly, negative and highly suspect, given the history of US military involvement throughout the world, and Africa’s long and bitter experience with colonizers.
Outside of a select audience, reaction in the United States has barely even registered. First of all, Africa is one of the least-covered continents in US media. And when African nations do draw media attention, coverage typically centers on catastrophe, conflict, or corruption, and generally features some form of benevolent foreign intervention, be it financial and humanitarian aid, or stern official posturing couched as paternal concerns over human rights. But US military activity on the continent largely goes unnoticed. This was recently evidenced by the sparse reporting on military support for the invasion of Somalia to rout the Islamic Courts Union and reinstall the unpopular warlords who had earlier divided up the country. The Pentagon went so far as to declare the operation a blueprint for future engagements.
The DOD states that a primary component of AFRICOM’s mission will be to professionalize indigenous militaries to ensure stability, security, and accountable governance throughout Africa’s various states and regions. Stability refers to establishing and maintaining order, and accountability, of course, refers to US interests. This year alone, 1,400 African military officers are anticipated to complete International Military Education and Training programs at US military schools.
Combine this tasking of militarization with an increased civilian component in AFRICOM emphasizing imported conceptions of “democracy promotion” and “capacity-building” and African autonomy and sovereignty are quick to suffer. Kenyans, for example, are currently finding themselves in this position.
It is hoped that, by drawing attention to the growing US footprint on Africa now, a contextual awareness of these issues can be useful to, at the very least, help mitigate some of the damages that will surely follow. At the moment, there is little public consciousness of AFRICOM and very few sources of information outside of official narratives. Widening the public dialogue on this topic is the first step toward addressing meaningful responses.

Democracy vs Elective Oligarchy

Some Definitions:

Democracy - "a state of society characterized by formal equality of rights and privileges." and a, "government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system."

Elective - "Permitting or involving a choice; optional: elective surgery."

Oligarchy - "Government by a few, especially by a small faction of persons or families. Those making up such a government." and, "A state governed by a few persons."

The definitions above help us to observe, literally, and figuratively, in black and white, the obvious difference between a government of the people who have, at their core, the 'peoples' best interest at heart, and an elective government run by the few, of whom, it is hard to believe exist for the goodness of the general population at large.

Yet, this is what is meant when we talk about democracy in the modern sense. We regard, in Britain, that our government is a democracy because 'we the people..." elected them by the power of vote, and therefore have a certain amount of control over the decisions affecting our lives and politics governing our country.

Unfortunately, this is a myth. An 'untruth', an exaggeration of what is really happening, or has happened over the last few hundred years. We assume that 'democracy' is a modern invention that has shown, quite clearly, that is a shining beacon of light for those other political regimes who oppose such a standard of liberal, equal opportunities such as tyranny, totalitarianism, fascism, and communism as a whole. Democracy stands with its head held high, spouting puritanical zeal about its legacy on the modern, Western, Capitalist, developed world.

This 'reality' is nothing more than pretense. This 'reality' is not. Therefore, I aim to discuss in the very briefest of senses in this blog, why it is not.

Democracy vs Elective Oligarchy.....errmmm!! Yes, the eyes cloud over and the minds wander elsewhere for we do not discuss such issues, frighteningly 'brainy' and 'intellectual' issues, and quite frankly, 'boring' issues such as politics!? Why concern myself with these things when in ten minutes I get to find out whether, 'Martin in EastEnders' is going to get charged, or whether, 'Mandy in Coronation Street' is going to discover her husband is having an affair...you see, how can Democracy and Oligarchy possibly compete???

Switch the television off! That is not a polite request, but an order! Yes, now I am infringing on your rights as a human being and telling you, quite directly what you can, and cannot do, therefore I am clearly making a distinction between what is 'right and wrong', yes? NO!!

By definition, an Elective Oligarchy is a political regime vastly different from what we usually call it....Democracy. In its true sense, democracy is a political regime which serves the interest of ALL its citizens, and prescribes equal rights for all, abolishes slavery, and encourages free thought, which incorporates free speech, and, by definition, 'dissenting' opinion.
This is a lovely, 'hold dear to my heart', political 'Mills and Boon' which serves to make the people, yes you! Feel warm, and safe no matter what the interest rate rises are, and how many man hours you need to work, to keep your family in the life it deserves.

I am a dissident, I am also, for that matter, a blasphemer, a philistine, and a 'wanker' to those who oppose me. Good, now do you feel better? I don't. You see, I have to witness on a daily basis the corruption all around me, I am, in the words of an agent in the Matrix, 'suffocated by it'. 'Its the smell...' The vile smell of power gone wrong, of power being abused, of our 'innocent' civilians, as we all are, until PROVEN GUILTY, being raped by our own government, by those who are there to protect us and serve us. Unfortunately, unless you are partially sighted (emotionally) you understand that it is YOU who serves them, not the other way around.

All the dressing up and lies, built on more lies, leads you down a merry path of contentment, where you can no longer find where one corrupt law starts and another one begins. A 'hell' in the biblical sense.

We elect every four years a government who will serve us and protect us as a whole, agreed? Ok, now think to yourself, I am from a family of suffragettes who chained themselves, quite literally, to allow the liberation of womens rights, and with that, the right to vote. This was a great achievement, no one can deny........fast forward to the present.

You are on your way to the ballot box, knowing, 'secretly' who you are going to vote for, I mean, how can Conservatives get in again!? Yes, you 'secretly' tick a box, and hope, and in some sense, truly 'believe', that this time it will be different. Taxes will come down, I will get a long-awaited pay increment, and violent youths will finally be stopped in their tracks. Very nice sentiment, one felt by most of the 'sheep', sorry, citizens of the United Kingdom. How much time, lets say, prior to the vote did you observe a variety of political opinion? How much time did you spend discussing the finer points of the proposals made by your local candidate? How much awareness of the political opinions, and 'swaying' did you consider of the national tabloid that lands on your hallway carpet just in time for breakfast? I am guessing, not very much! And this is my, admitted, convoluted way of saying, YOU ARE A MUG!!

You have no rights, once elected, to judge, criticise, or impeach any government, or government representative because you have e-voted them in. Fact! The damage is done. You get fed the usual nonsense of how, initially anyway, the government will have to 'raise' taxes because of the damage caused by the last government, and how, 'eventually' you will be better off. But the frank truth is you are never better off. By 'using' your vote, you have not 'done your bit', for Queen and Country, you have just paid off a big, handful of the fattest Chairmans and Managing Executives from around the world, and ensured the abuses of power continue. Frightening, when all you remember, is whether 'Mandy' will find out if her husband is having an affair, isn't it?

The government whether Conservative, or Labour, or Republican, or Democratic, believe in one thing. Capitalism! They need to encourage consumerism in order to encourage production, but at what cost? To rape the land, and cause a global catastophe known as 'Global Warming', Yes, it does really exist, no matter what, David Bellamy says!

You believe you NEED the new Xbox, your kids certainly do. You believe you NEED the latest Prada phone, or Iphone. You believe you couldn't possibly live without the new Dyson washing machine, or hoover (eight cyclones, WOW!) We have forgotten what being alive, and human is all about. It is not about prestige, or gifts, or money, economics, or pay increases. It is about being happy, not in the material sense, but truly content with what one has. Contentment ensures the death of Capitalism, and the death of Capitalism ensures the death of 'Democracy', and ensuring the death of Democracy, one ensures the death of, perhaps, Wars based on Greed (oil for one, and one for oil!), Wars based on Religion (bye bye Christianity and Catholicism), and Wars for wars sake ( hello, Terrorism!).

This is just, my small-minded, dangerous, and dissenting voice of opinion which counts for little. I am even encouraged by the current American propaganda war to join the fog of Bloggers to help wash away 'analytical truth' from this world, but you believe what you want, because, surely that is the beauty of living in a democracy?

Equality? Where?

Why is it that when we impose a new regime of change, for example, when liberating a previously prejudiced or suppressed/oppressed group of people; Women, Afro-Carribeans, Asians etc, it results in the loss of liberty for another group?

Surely the point to all of these issues is EQUALITY. In the true sense, creating an equal society of equal rights.

Why then is it the case that Great Britain nowis in grave danger of shooting itself in the foot. The most prejudiced class of citizen in this country are young to middle aged white males.

We accepted change in the form of Womens liberation, and nobody could argue that was a good thing. I come from a family of suffragettes, those who would chain themselves up to buildings so women got a right to vote, equally to men.

So why now, are we in a position where men, especially white males, caucasians, if you prefer, are left with fewer jobs, fewer opportunities education-wise, and almost no chance of having 'residency' for their own children?

I have witnessed first hand, jobs being given to the so-called, 'ethnic minorities', because of litigation stating specifically that if there are, for example, 12 jobs going at the local Post Office, then at least one MUST go to an 'ethnic minority'. Why? When in the case mentioned, this person was not 'fit for practice', and if that person were white/caucasian would have been back in the dole office before his name couldve been called. This is not a racism rant, this is an appeal to the British Establishment to start questioning why, for example, the BNP are starting to get real votes, why people are looking for pro-white groups as a way of protecting their future.

In the case of women, and Fathers 4 Justice (see video below), it is plainly 'accepted' that the woman will get full rights over the children in a divorce or separation. Why?

That is not equality, that is not fair! But we 'accept' it because well, fathers just dont cut the mustard, women are the rearers of children, well, it has got to stop!

The roles in society of men and women have reversed, so much so, that nowadays, women dont actually NEED men, they used to RELY on men, to 'bring home the bacon', be the 'breadwinner' etc, but not anymore.

Women now drive their own cars, pay their own mortgages, pay their own bills, pay their own way in life generally. They are stronger than men in many senses, maybe not physically but in the day to day running of a household. Men are not taught these things still.

Men are a nuisance nowadays to women, why bother with the hassle of having a male around the house when the woman can put the kids in to nursery, drive to work, pick them up after work, drive them to the local fun factory, and have a 'girly' chat with her other single mother friends!! It has become ludicrous, that society has allowed this to happen. A society completely devoid of men!

There will be serious repercussions in the future if family life continues without male involvement, without a male role model for their children, even daughters can benefit greatly from having a male in their lives.

Dont get me wrong, women are not all turning lesbian, but they ARE, most certainly, USING men for sex, using them when life gets a big tough, and raggedy, and then they think, lets have a child!!! BOOM!! Two years on, and they discover depression, they cant cope anymore with the whining male, moaning after a hard days grafting, and her going out to work, with not enough time for 'girly' chats, and baby sessions, and 'girly' nights out, so they drop the man, anywhere really, not bothered, and enjoy a life of luxury without having to hold them up.

What women fail to realise is that they are damaging children with their selfish, self-centred ways. It is all about them, and never about the children or their fathers.

If more women out there had to know what it feels like for one day to have your child jump into bed and tug at your ears or nose to wake you up, with them giggling and making your whole life purposeful and alive, then one day to turn around and ACCEPT, that you can only have that maybe once a fortnight !!!! The law would be changed instantly, women of this generation have it soooooo good that they dont know what hardship is, they dont know what a family unit is, or how important for upbringing it is, to have the children real father at home, not an uncle, or a stand in father, THEIR father.

Women no longer try at relationships, people are still getting married, but that is because women want the princess and the prince wedding, then the kid, and dog, then the divorce. That is the way it is, and the way it will carry on, unless the law does something to protect men.

The time has come for change, women have no idea how to offer a mans perspective to a child, they have very little understanding of how absence of a male figure will affect their childrens future relationships with men, or how they will cope later on in life. Its highly likely that they will realise that they dont need to stay with the parent, they dont need to try at a relationship, why bother?

This is all wasted words on an empty page, written by a broken man, with bitterness and angst as his best friends....

Coffee Prevents Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis

Drinking as little as one cup of coffee a day could help protect you from liver disease caused by alcohol, according to research published today.
People who drink one cup of coffee are 20% less likely to have alcoholic cirrhosis than those who abstain from doing so.

And the protective effect increases with the more coffee you drink: People who drink two or three cups a day are 40% less likely to contract cirrhosis, while those who drink four or more cups are 80% less likely to suffer the disease.

The findings, conducted by researchers at the Kasier Permanente, in Oakland, California, are thought to be the largest study to look at the inverse relationship between coffee and cirrhosis. The link was first reported by researchers at the same institute in 1993 but this new study - of 125,000 people over 22 years - "solidifies the association", Arthur L Klatsky, the lead author of the study, said.
Dr Klatsky, who was involved in the earlier research, added: "Consuming coffee seems to have some protective benefits against alcoholic cirrhosis, and the more coffee a person consumes the less risk they seem to have of being hospitalised or dying of alcoholic cirrhosis. We did not see a similar protective association between coffee and non-alcoholic cirrhosis."

The researchers, whose findings are published in the US journal Archives of Internal Medicine, followed more than 125,000 health plan members who underwent a medical examination between 1978-1985 and who, at the time, had no diagnosed liver disease. Participants filled out a questionnaire detailing how much alcohol, coffee and tea they drank daily.

By the end of 2001, 330 participants had been diagnosed with liver disease, including 199 with alcoholic cirrhosis - caused by the consumption, each day, of three or more units of alcohol.

Researchers - who only counted those who had been hospitalised or died because of the disease - found that the more coffee a person drank the less likely they were to develop alcoholic cirrhosis.

Drinking tea had no effect, suggesting the ingredient that protects against cirrhosis is not caffeine.

Blood tests conducted on the 5% of drinkers who consumed the most alcohol confirmed that coffee drinkers were less likely to have high levels of enzymes in the liver - a key indicator of liver damage.

Dr Klatsky added: "Even allowing for statistical variation, this shows there is a clear association between coffee consumption and protection against alcoholic cirrhosis.

"This is not a recommendation to drink coffee. Nor is it a recommendation that the way to deal with heavy alcohol consumption is to drink more coffee. And while there is very little evidence that moderate coffee drinking - say up to four cups a day - is harmful to the health, that's not the message we want to get across. There is a lot of harm caused by heavy drinking other than liver damage."

Dr Klatsky said that if caffeine were the key protective ingredient, he would expect to have seen some protection for heavy tea drinkers.

"We can't answer why this has happened," he said. "The value of this study is that it may offer us some clues as to the biochemical processes taking place inside liver cells that could help in finding new ways to protect the liver against injury."

Cirrhosis, caused by thickening of the normal tissue, causes progressive damage and impaired function of the liver. There are numerous causes including viruses, obesity or genetic problems - but excess alcohol is the main culprit.

Figures published in The Lancet this year show that Britons are drinking themselves into the grave at a sharply increasing rate. In the 1950s England and Wales had low rates of liver cirrhosis deaths - for men 3.4 per 100,000 a year and for women 2.2. By 2001 rates were 14.1 for men and 7.7 for women.

While the US remains the world's biggest consumer of coffee - with the average American drinking 3.2 cups a day - British men now drink an average of 1.7 cups, and women 1.5 cups a day.

Human Micro-chips Cause Cancer

A new paper titled "Microchip-Induced Tumors in Laboratory Rodents and
Dogs: A Review of the Literature 1990-2006" has been released today by
CASPIAN. The full, 48-page paper provides a definitive review of the
academic literature showing a causal link between implanted
radio-frequency (RFID) microchip transponders and cancer in laboratory
rodents and dogs. In addition, a brief, four-page synopsis of the full
report is being made available.

Eleven articles previously published in toxicology and pathology
journals are evaluated in the report. In six of the articles, between
0.8% and 10.2% of laboratory mice and rats developed malignant tumors
around or adjacent to the microchips, and several researchers suggested
the actual tumor rate may have been higher. Two additional articles
reported microchip-related cancer in dogs.

In almost all cases, the malignant tumors, typically sarcomas, arose at
the site of the implants and grew to surround and fully encase the
devices. In several cases the tumors also metastasized or spread to
other parts of the animals.

Public revelation of a casual link between microchipping and cancer in
animals has prompted widespread public concern over the safety of
implantable microchips. The story was first broken to the public in
September through an article written by Associated Press Reporter Todd
Lewan. Prior to the AP story, the journal articles were completely
unknown outside of small academic circles.

"The AP did a superb job informing the public of the existence of these
journal articles," said Dr. Katherine Albrecht, a leading privacy
expert
and long-time VeriChip opponent who authored the new paper.
"Unfortunately," Dr. Albrecht added, "a lot of misinformation about the
cancer research has circulated since Mr. Lewan's article was published.
I wrote the report to set the record straight."

The animal-microchip study findings were so compelling that one of Mr.
Lewan's sources, Dr. Robert Benezra, head of the Cancer Biology
Genetics
Program at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, was
quoted as saying, "There's no way in the world, having read this
information, that I would have one of those chips implanted in my skin,
or in one of my family members."

Nevertheless, representatives of the chipping industry have made
inaccurate public statements about the research findings in an effort
to
confuse the public.

Scott Silverman, CEO of the VeriChip Corporation which makes the
controversial VeriChip human implant, recently provided inaccurate
information to Time Magazine. Mr. Silverman is quoted as saying that
none of the tumors found in mice in a 2006 French study were malignant.
In fact, not only were the tumors malignant sarcomas, but most of the
afflicted animals died prematurely as a result of the
microchip-associated tumors.

In addition, Destron Fearing, makers of the HomeAgain pet implant,
dismissed a finding of fibrosarcoma--a highly lethal cancer--as
'benign' in a recent report.

A fibrosarcoma is a type of sarcoma, a malignant tumor of soft tissue
that connects, supports or surrounds other structures and organs of the
body. Dr. Timothy Jennings, an expert on implant-induced cancers in
humans, said he was "not aware of any nosology incorporating an entity
of 'benign fibrosarcoma'" and agreed that "any tumor classified as
sarcoma should be viewed as malignant."

"Either VeriChip and the makers of HomeAgain actually don't understand
the difference between a benign fibroma and a malignant fibrosarcoma,"
noted Dr. Albrecht, "or they're deliberately lying to the public.
Either
way, it's clear they can't be trusted. We hope our new report will set
the record straight."

~I guess it doesn't really matter about the risks to our health because the powers that be will justify their motives with specific, self-funded research to oppose these findings. Cannabis to be re-classified because of lost revenue

The Association of Chief Police Officers are calling for cannabis to be reclassified from a class C to a class B drug. The Association of Chief Police Officers had supported the downgrading of the drug from class B to Class C three years ago. However Tim Hollis, the Chair of the ACPO drugs committee, said that they would now support a return to the previous position and would be giving evidence to that effect to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. A decision would then be taken probably next spring. Mr Hollis the Chief Constable of Humberside said there were concerns that the downgrading had sent out the wrong signals to young people. He also questioned why cannabis factories in rented houses had proliferated. He said organised crime viewed the UK as a potential place to produce cannabis. Police are stressing however that any reclassification would not necessarily change the way that they currently police possession of cannabis, although that may be reviewed in the light of any re-classification. The annual ACPO drugs conference in Cardiff is due to hear the latest evidence about links between mental illness and cannabis abuse.

~What a shame that the United Kingdom cannot cope with the irrefutable fact that Cannabis is not a dangerous drug, certainly not on the scale of Amphetamine. It is obvious that their reasons for re-classification are not because of its risks, but of a loss of profit! If Cannabis could be controlled by the government i.e by not being able to be home grown, and if it was more physically addictive like alcohol and cigarettes, then Cannabis would have been legalised in the 60's. The End Of Days...

I am tired, drained, and pessimisstic. I have awoke, bleary eyed, and cannot muster enough energy to plan anything for the day, look forward to anything, or be positive.

The 32 month wait to talk to a Psychologist has finally ended, but that too is draining every bit of energy from my being. I talk, she listens, and very well too, I might add, we have a good rapport. She is Professional, confident at her work, and does not offer sympathy, just empathy and understanding, which is the only way to really help me to help myself. The analogy of the 'Give a man a fish...' remains true in this situation also.

She has helped me to understand that by utilising something called, 'Dialectical Behavioural Therapy' I can re-learn how to 'cope' and learn better skills for coping with this fucking, bastard of a world we live in. Due to trauma's in my early childhood, abuses, and neglect, and unstable rearing with separation and rejection from my major male role model, I developed, I had to develop ways of coping. The problem being that my ways of coping have developed into, what can be described as a 'personality disorder'.

As a young child, I was lonely. Following my father leaving and my sexually abusive sister, which was round about the same time. My mother ploughed every scrap of energy she could muster into the critically important housework. 'A tidy house equals a tidy mind!', and 'What would the neighbours think if they came round and saw dust, or dog hairs of dirty plates in the sink?' Yes, I was fucking lonely! So my ways of coping were to immerse myself in my head, and so I developed highly imaginative worlds where I would reside, in safety, away from the horrors of the real world. As an adult, these fantasies disappeared, with each year I grew older, the fantasies went one by one. The tooth fairy, Jack Frost, Santa Claus, the monster in the attic, the little people who lived in the garden, the figurines I had collected from Star Wars figures, Green Army men with rocket launchers that fired matches, to the matchbox cars that skreetched around corners, and knocked down figures, or dolls that I hated...dead, dead, dead! All that was now lost, and part of me died also.

As an adult, I say adult, a pubescent boy, I realised these fantasies could be made to live again, Pinnochio could be a real life boy again! I discovered Drugs, and all the wonderful new doors they opened inside my head, but not all the doors that opened were wonderful, some I wish had never been opened, for they stay forever ajar, with the darkness casting a shadow over every piece of happiness I ever obtain, however short.

Yes, today I am tired, I am weary, but tonight I will be so drunk again that for a fleeting moment, that happiness I remember from the far distant past will come again, and I will pass out, and dream.....

Then tomorrow I rise, and the rollercoaster ride that is my life will begin again ....

Cannabis has anti-depressant effects!

It has been known for many years that depletion of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain leads to depression, so SSRI-class anti-depressants like Prozac and Celexa work by enhancing the available concentration of serotonin in the brain. However, this study offers the first evidence that cannabis can also increase serotonin, at least at lower doses.

Laboratory animals were injected with the synthetic cannabinoid WIN55,212-2 and then tested with the Forced Swim test -- a test to measure "depression" in animals; the researchers observed an antidepressant effect of cannabinoids paralleled by an increased activity in the neurons that produce serotonin. However, increasing the cannabinoid dose beyond a set point completely undid the benefits, said Dr. Gabriella Gobbi of McGill University.

"Low doses had a potent anti-depressant effect, but when we increased the dose, the serotonin in the rats' brains actually dropped below the level of those in the control group. So we actually demonstrated a double effect: At low doses it increases serotonin, but at higher doses the effect is devastating, completely reversed."

The anti-depressant and intoxicating effects of cannabis are due to its chemical similarity to natural substances in the brain known as "endo-cannabinoids," which are released under conditions of high stress or pain, explained Dr. Gobbi. They interact with the brain through structures called cannabinoid CB1 receptors. This study demonstrates for the first time that these receptors have a direct effect on the cells producing serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that regulates the mood.

Dr. Gobbi and her colleagues were prompted to explore cannabis' potential as an anti-depressant through anecdotal clinical evidence, she said. "As a psychiatrist, I noticed that several of my patients suffering from depression used to smoke cannabis. And in the scientific literature, we had some evidence that people treated with cannabis for multiple sclerosis or AIDS showed a big improvement in mood disorders. But there were no laboratory studies demonstrating the anti-depressant mechanism of action of cannabis."

Because controlling the dosage of natural cannabis is difficult -- particularly when it is smoked in the form of marijuana joints -- there are perils associated with using it directly as an anti-depressant.

"Excessive cannabis use in people with depression poses high risk of psychosis," said Dr. Gobbi. Instead, she and her colleagues are focusing their research on a new class of drugs which enhance the effects of the brain's natural endo-cannabinoids.

"We know that it's entirely possible to produce drugs which will enhance endo-cannabinoids for the treatment of pain, depression and anxiety," she said.

The study, published in the October 24 issue of The Journal of Neuroscience, was led by Dr. Gabriella Gobbi of McGill University and Le Centre de Recherche Fernand Seguin of Hôpital Louis-H. Lafontaine, affiliated with l'Université de Montréal. First author is Dr. Gobbi's McGill PhD student Francis Bambico, along with Noam Katz and the late Dr. Guy Debonnel* of McGill's Department of Psychiatry.

Following several weeks of concentrated meditation, on June 11th 1963, Thích Quảng Đức sat in the lotus position and committed self-immolation.

Thich Nhat Hanh goes on to explaing why Thich Quang Duc’s self-immolation was NOT a suicide, which is contrary to Buddhist teachings:

North Korea still a 'terrorist' target of the U.S

North Korea remains on a list of states that sponsor terrorism, a senior U.S. diplomat said Tuesday, dismissing North Korean claims that Washington decided to remove the designation.

"No, they haven't been taken off the terrorism list," Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill told Japanese reporters as he arrived in Australia's business capital for a meeting of Pacific Rim nations. A State Department press officer separately confirmed the remarks.

Hill's comments were the first U.S. denial since North Korea's Foreign Ministry, in a statement carried Monday by the country's official news agency, said that Washington decided to scotch the terror designation and with it related economic sanctions. The North Korean statement said the change came in a weekend meeting between Hill and his counterpart in Geneva.

Under a deal reached in February after years of tortuous negotiations, North Korea agreed to relinquish its nuclear programs, including one that has produced bomb material. In return,...

...Washington agreed to open talks on normalizing relations with the North, enemies since the Korean War, and explore removing the terrorism designation.

Hill suggested that North Korea first needs to go further in dismantling its nuclear programs before the U.S. will take it off the terrorism list.

"Getting off the list will depend on further denuclearization," Hill told reporters later Tuesday after a meeting with Japan's nuclear envoy, also in Sydney for a meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

Hill declined to specify what North Korea must do but said those things have been discussed with North Korean officials. "They know what these steps are," Hill said.

After a slow start, the parties to the February agreement _ which include China, Japan, Russia and South Korea as well as the U.S. and North Korea _ have picked up speed in implementing its terms. North Korea shut down its main nuclear reactor in July.

After their weekend meeting, Hill told reporters that North Korea's envoy, Kim Kye Gwan, agreed to disclose its nuclear programs and disable them by the endof this year. Kim separately suggested that North Korea was willing to declare and dismantle the facilities but did not mention the year end date.

North Korea has faced various economic sanctions since the 1950-53 Korean War. Washington put it on the terrorism list for its alleged involvement in the 1987 bombing of a South Korean airliner that killed 115 people. The designation effectively blocks North Korea from receiving low-interest loans from the World Bank and other international lending agencies.

The administration of President Bush believes that North Korea cheated on an earlier nuclear deal, supposedly starting up a separate program to enrich uranium while freezing a plutonium-based program. It has tried to front-load the current deal to get North Korea to make more concessions earlier.

MI5 confused by Orwell's politics

Orwell did not agree fully with the Communist Party, MI5 said
MI5 monitored socialist writer George Orwell for more than two decades, but did not believe he was a mainstream communist, records have revealed.
A Scotland Yard Special Branch report in January 1942 said the author of 1984 had "advanced communist views".

However, an MI5 officer responded that Orwell "does not hold with the Communist Party nor they with him".

A file from the National Archives also shows MI5 did not object to him having a wartime job at a military base.

Orwell was vetted for the post as a correspondent for the Sunday Observer at Allied Forces Headquarters in North Africa.

'Bohemian dress'

The Special Branch report said: "This man has advanced communist views and several of his Indian friends say that they have often seen him at communist meetings.

"He dresses in a bohemian fashion both at his office and in his leisure hours."

The MI5 officer rang the inspector in charge of the sergeant who wrote the report, to question what it meant.

From the call it emerged that Orwell - referred to in the documents by his real name Eric Blair - was thought to be an "unorthodox communist" who did not agree fully with Communist Party views.

The officer from the security service wrote: "I gathered that the good sergeant was rather at a loss as to how he could describe this rather individual line hence the expression 'advanced communist views'.

"It is evident from his recent writings - The Lion and the Unicorn - and his contribution to Gollancz's symposium The Betrayal Of The Left that he does not hold with the Communist Party nor they with him."

'Bit of an anarchist'

Orwell is best known for books including 1984 and Animal Farm, which criticise totalitarianism, and other works attacking inequality, including Down and Out in Paris and London and The Road to Wigan Pier.

The records show Orwell first came to the attention of intelligence service MI6 in 1929 when he was in France and offered to become Paris correspondent for the Workers Life.

In 1942, a record described him as "a bit of an anarchist in his day and in touch with extremist elements".

He had "undoubtedly strong left-wing views, but he is a long way from orthodox communism", it added.

Toilet spy

Other MI5 records released by the National Archives reveal a rather basic approach to intelligence gathering.

Kent policeman Pc Ivan Smith resorted to hiding in a toilet to listen in on apprentices from the Royal Navy dockyards at Chatham discussing strike action in December 1941.

American musician Alan Lomax was put under surveillance by MI5 as a potential communist, and his BBC TV shows in the early 1950s were monitored by Special Branch.

The BBC was informed that Lomax was in contact with the Hungarian press attache in London, although that could have been linked to his interest in folk dancing.

The records reveal that a German spy - Argentine Ernesto Hoppe - was involved in plans to transport Nazi valuables to South America.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Around the world, a handful of scientists are trying to create life from scratch and they're getting closer.

Experts expect an announcement within three to 10 years from someone in the now little-known field of "wet artificial life."

"It's going to be a big deal and everybody's going to know about it," said Mark Bedau, chief operating officer of ProtoLife of Venice, Italy, one of those in the race. "We're talking about a technology that could change our world in pretty fundamental ways -- in fact, in ways that are impossible to predict."

That first cell of synthetic life -- made from the basic chemicals in DNA -- may not seem like much to non-scientists. For one thing, you'll have to look in a microscope to see it.

"Creating protocells has the potential to shed new life on our place in the universe," Bedau said. "This will remove one of the few fundamental mysteries about creation in the universe and our role."

And several scientists believe man-made life forms will one day offer the potential for solving a variety of problems, from fighting diseases to locking up greenhouse gases to eating toxic waste.

Bedau figures there are three major hurdles to creating synthetic life:

A container, or membrane, for the cell to keep bad molecules out, allow good ones, and the ability to multiply.

A genetic system that controls the functions of the cell, enabling it to reproduce and mutate in response to environmental changes.

A metabolism that extracts raw materials from the environment as food and then changes it into energy.

One of the leaders in the field, Jack Szostak at Harvard Medical School, predicts that within the next six months, scientists will report evidence that the first step -- creating a cell membrane -- is "not a big problem." Scientists are using fatty acids in that effort.

Szostak is also optimistic about the next step -- getting nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, to form a working genetic system.

His idea is that once the container is made, if scientists add nucleotides in the right proportions, then Darwinian evolution could simply take over.

"We aren't smart enough to design things, we just let evolution do the hard work and then we figure out what happened," Szostak said.

In Gainesville, Florida, Steve Benner, a biological chemist at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution is attacking that problem by going outside of natural genetics. Normal DNA consists of four bases -- adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine (known as A,C,G,T) -- molecules that spell out the genetic code in pairs. Benner is trying to add eight new bases to the genetic alphabet.

Bedau said there are legitimate worries about creating life that could "run amok," but there are ways of addressing it, and it will be a very long time before that is a problem.

"When these things are created, they're going to be so weak, it'll be a huge achievement if you can keep them alive for an hour in the lab," he said. "But them getting out and taking over, never in our imagination could this happen."

Transhumanism vs Solution for Human Deficits

The Transhumanism movement advocates the use of technology to allow humans to evolve from human to transhuman, or posthuman.

Companies such as Primo Posthuman have been planning since the turn of the century to create smart skin that can allow humans to become H+, or better than human.

Their website highlights their plan to allow us to be super human, and highlights various parts of the human skeleton that could be enhanced using present and future technologies.

They quote the histories of our eyesight, and how we have moved on since magnifying glasses, to basic glasses, to contact lenses, cataract removal, corneal sculpting to the use of silicon retinal implants in 1999. They use this history to assume there has to be a forward trend that includes total bionic eyes to see 'better than human'.

The company sites the history of human hearing from technological advancements like speaking tubes in the 1700's, ear trumpets in the 1800's to hearing aids in the 1900's, cochlear bionic implants in the 1960's to digital signal processing in 1984. Again, they assume we must continue this trend and completely replace our 'sub-standard' human ears with more advanced, finely tuned digital frequency hearing systems allowing much improved 'parabolic' hearing.

We apparently need to have total skin augmentation because our history has shown the use of dyes, tatoos, piercings, and skin tissue was the first to be engineered and grafted. Therefore according to the transhumanists, we must completely replace our human skin with synthetic active skin, that does not require the need of clothing. It will be multi textured, and can change its colour, just like 'real' skin!!

They even go so far as to suggest that we require a spinal upgrade by using a
1,000,000 terabit/sec optical backbone (one billion times more capacity than a human spinal cord). We will require an in vivo fibre optics communication back bone to allow us to 'hear our body speaking'.

Due to the fact that at some stage in our history the human race shrunk down to only 10,000 separate blood lines, we have a limited gene pool, and therefore suffer to this day from DNA mutations, the most common being, myopia (short-sightedness), and as humans we do suffer from blindness, deafness, and disablilities. These are problems that prevent people experiencing full human functionality. These are the areas that I believe technology can help. Those of us who wear glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids, pace makers, cochlear implants are not posthuman, we are repairing the faults of mutated DNA.

The difference between this argument for Solutions for Human Deficits vs Transhumanism needs establishing. On one hand you are making yourself more human, if you like, and the other is making you more artificial, more robot.

The transhumanist movement will continue unabaited with their ideological future of immortality, but as human beings we need to be very careful that we do not stray too far from our natural path. Yes, we need to evolve and we will, but we do not need technology to do this, just patience.

Appeals Court may let NSA lawsuit proceed!

SAN FRANCISCO--A federal appeals court on Wednesday appeared unwilling to end a pair of lawsuits that claim the Bush administration engaged in widespread illegal surveillance of Americans.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals repeatedly pressed Gregory Garre, the Bush administration's deputy solicitor general, to justify his requests to toss out the suits on grounds they could endanger national security by possibly revealing "state secrets."

Judge Harry Pregerson wondered: "We just have to take the word of members of the executive branch that it's a state secret. That's what you're saying, isn't it?"

A moment later Judge Michael Hawkins suggested that granting the request could mean "abdication" of our duties.

A room in this AT&T switching center in downtown San Francisco at 611 Folsom St. is alleged to be a place where the National Security Agency taps Internet andtelephone communications.
AT&T has neither confirmed nor denied these allegations, which surfaced
in a lawsuit filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. At the heart of both cases is the U.S. Justice Department's argument that any lawsuit claiming illegal activity on behalf of AT&T and the National Security Agency--even if the eavesdropping is known to have taken place--cannot proceed because it could let enemies and terrorists know how the government's surveillance apparatus works.

It "could compromise the sources, methods and operational details of our intelligence gathering capabilities," Solicitor General Garre said.

In the first case, called Hepting v. AT&T, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and other attorneys had filed a class action lawsuit against AT&T saying it unlawfully opened its networks to the NSA. Last summer, U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker in San Francisco ruled that it could proceed.

The second case, Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation v. President Bush, is unique: it involves a classified document that the U.S. Treasury Department accidentally turned over to an attorney for the foundation. The top-secret document showed, according to the group, "Al-Haramain and its attorneys had been subjected to warrantless surveillance in violation of (federal law)." They responded by filing another lawsuit in February 2006 alleging violations of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

The Justice Department says the Al-Haramain case must be thrown out because it, too, could endanger state secrets. The foundation's attorneys must not even be allowed to refer to it, government attorney Thomas Bondy said Wednesday, because their "mental recollections of the documents are also out of the case."

"I'm feeling like Alice in Wonderland," replied Judge M. Margaret McKeown.

While no decision was announced Wednesday, and a final ruling might not be reached for months, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit pressed prosecutors to justify asking that the case be dismissed based on declarations submitted by senior Bush administration officials. (All three judges are Democratic appointees.)

"The bottom line here is that once the executive declares that certain activity is a state secret, that's the end of it?" Pregerson asked. "No cases, no litigation, absolute immunity? The king can do no wrong?"

San Francisco - In the wake of Congress approving a dramatic expansion of U.S. warrantless wiretapping powers, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments on the future of two critical lawsuits over illegal surveillance of Americans. The hearing is set for August 15, at 2 p.m. in San Francisco.

The government is fighting to get the cases thrown out of court, contending that the litigation jeopardizes state secrets. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is representing the plaintiffs in Hepting v. AT&T, which accuses the telecom giant of collaborating with the National Security Agency (NSA) in illegal electronic surveillance of millions of AT&T's customers. The court will also hear the arguments on the future of Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation v. Bush, a case alleging that the government illegally wiretapped calls between the charity and its lawyers.

"At issue here is whether the courts have any meaningful role to play in protecting Americans' privacy from Executive branch abuses of its surveillance powers," said EFF Legal Director Cindy Cohn. "If the claim of 'state secrets' is allowed to shut down litigation, then the courts will never be able to exercise their Constitutional duty to hold the White House accountable for illegal and even unconstitutional abuses of power."

The court has scheduled one hour of arguments for Hepting v. AT&T, and 40 minutes for Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation v. Bush. Because of the large number of attendees expected at Wednesday's hearing, the court will provide an overflow room with audio and video of the proceedings for spectators who cannot get a seat in the courtroom itself.

Bush eradicates law to protect foreign nationals!

CAMP DAVID, Md. - President Bush on Sunday signed into law an expansion of the government’s power to eavesdrop on foreign terror suspects without the need for warrants.

The law, approved by the Senate and the House just before Congress adjourned for its summer break, was deemed a priority by Bush and his chief intelligence officials.

Bush signed the bill into law on Sunday afternoon at his retreat at Camp David, Md.

“When our intelligence professionals have the legal tools to gather information about the intentions of our enemies, America is safer,” Bush said. “And when these same legal tools also protect the civil liberties of Americans, then we can have the confidence to know that we can preserve our freedoms while making America safer.”

The administration said the measure is needed to speed the National Security Agency’s ability to intercept phone calls, e-mails and other communications involving foreign nationals “reasonably believed to be outside the United States.”

The law is designed to capture communications that pass through the United States.

Civil liberties groups and many Democrats say it goes too far, possibly enabling the government to wiretap U.S. residents communicating with overseas parties without adequate oversight from courts or Congress.

The new law updates the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and it will expire in six months unless Congress renews it. Bush wants deeper, permanent changes.

“We must remember that our work is not done,” Bush prodded. “This bill is a temporary, narrowly focused statute to deal with the most immediate shortcomings in the law.”

WASHINGTON - Airport security officers around the nation have been alerted by federal officials to look out for terrorists practicing to carry explosive components onto aircraft, based on four curious seizures at airports since last September.

The unclassified alert was distributed on July 20 by the Transportation Security Administration to federal air marshals, its own transportation security officers and other law enforcement agencies.

The seizures at airports in San Diego, Milwaukee, Houston and Baltimore included “wires, switches, pipes or tubes, cell phone components and dense clay-like substances,” including block cheese, the bulletin said. “The unusual nature and increase in number of these improvised items raise concern.”

1: What happens if you conquer longevity problems i.e the aging process, but don't find a suitable host planet in time, do we enforce mandatory sterilisation of women?

2: If we get to a point in our future when the developed world has to follow suit with China and limit babies being born, How do we stop illegal pregnancy and baby abandonment? How much will a one- per- lifespan baby license cost? Will the poor be able to obtain the latest cognitive implant or artificial neuron capacitor, or will we see the rich being the brightest and the poor being the uneducated? Do you care?

3: Surely the point of reproduction is to fulfill a human need to recreate, rear, and bond with your children. So why do you want us to stop nature and nurture?

4: Why do you want us to forget that we are all a culmination of thousands of centuries of learnt knowledge? No one man possesses all knowledge, or is it that we will live in a collective mind like the BORG? A blend of one mind, the internet and one religion, one voice, one huge totalitarian mess!

The transhumanist campaign pushes a belief system that mankind, human beings are flawed. The transhumanist campaign believes we should stop being human and become a machine.

The transhumanist campaign believes that immortality is the future. They believe they can alter the course of mankind by genetic engineering, cognitive implants, and mechanised internal organs. We will stop being human at this point. Our brains rely on a feedback system of our nerve endings to allow us to experience living. We can see, hear, touch, smell and exist from the two way actions of our nerves and neurons interacting with the physical world.

Think for a moment about what happens if you live another hundred years. Firstly, it is a proven fact that after the age of approx. 80 years old our brain cells deteriorate incredibly fast, even elderly people without dementia or alzheimers start losing it, you might say. Now, imagine your mind is going but the mechanised organs running your physical system keep going, you do not have the right to suicide, that is now the right of the state. Your mind is going, and you no longer have the capacity to learn or store more memories, you NEED a cognitive implant. So part of your brain is now robot. You no longer feel, see, smell, taste, you rely on experiencing the world as an AIBO robot does. You cannot interact or be human anymore. You will be computer.

Now think about that for a moment, and forget the egg heads (TED) dream of a totalitarian, perpetual consumer capable of no free thought, or ability to commit crime or to love, or to hate.

The only quick, sure fire way of getting us ALL chipped is via the medical route. How often have you been in a situation when you have woke up in the emergency room with amnesia, no idea who you are, and with a complete loss of speech?(I know I have! lol).

Either way, they will use marketing strategy, spin, and propaganda to manipulate all of us, our employers, and our governments to enforce us to have a chip inserted under our skin, FOR OUR SAFETY.

As part of this marketing strategy, they have realised, due to the frightening associations with the word, "CHIP" in VeriChip, and the realisation of what that means. A loss of humanism, and a move toward mechanism,so they changed the name.
That's all it takes unfortunately for people to be tricked, conned, and for their small minds to come round to the idea.....XMARK, what a great idea!!!!

You will still have to have a carcinogenic microchip inserted into your skin which has the capability of tracking your every move (despite what the corporate bullshit states).

The scary part is that once we start accepting this new technology it will become the norm. When it becomes the norm, the next step is a newer technological advancement (they have already devised temperature sensors, and weight sensors that will be in the next phase, assuming we all sit on our hands and do nothing!!)

If this continues, then the next stage with have full GPS capability, microphones, and further biological links to our bodily systems, and then you are A ROBOT controlled by the state.

There are many examples of this kind of crap, they are "the mark of the beast" 666 on every barcode, the number 13, walking under ladders, seeing black cats, its all BULLSHIT. More recently with the VeriChip, another supposed evidence of GOOD VERSUS EVIL. Lets stop talking myths and magical mysteries and start reading facts. I am also sick of reading people quoting about George Orwells 1984, when most of you havent even read the book, you dont even know who Winston was or what Victory gin is!! Yet, I see quote after quote of scary boogiemen, and numbers of the beast and typical Christian bullshit. Sorry if you are christian, but I am not saying I dont believe in a divine creator necessarily, but the bible is not Gods word, it is mans interpretation of gods word, and as the centuries have passed, countless translations have altered the ACTUAL meaning from hebrew to english for example.

Ok, this blog is for every person who lives on our planet today. You may want to sit down before reading this.....

Ever wondered why the oh-so liberal and free 'internet' exists in a culture of citizen spying and oppression, and the systematic removal of civil liberties such as the Patriot Act in the US?

Ever wondered why they want us ALL to publish our lives on the internet in the form of Blogs, videos, photographs, emails, and online storage facilities?

Ever wondered why our leaders in America and the UK create government subsidies for broadband internet access?

Ever wondered why, when they clearly have no interest in wiping out third world debt, do our leader go out of their way to sell $30 PC's for the Third World countries?

Ever wondered why Bill Gates (owner of Microsoft) gave $500 million to help with AIDS in Africa? Out of the goodness of his heart perhaps?

All of these questions will be answered, and more, in the following articles.....

Firstly, the internet was first invented by the military in America (this has been covered in previous blogs before) as a way to link all the American airbases in case of War. The grid developed slowly until various software programs were developed and user-friendly Operating Systems such as Windows, Unix, Linux etc.

The internet is basically 13 super computers dotted around the world that store all of its data in the cyberworld. The main computer, the brain you might say, is located ominously in the US.The leaders and big business owners of America realised that not only could emmense amounts of profit and revenue be gained, but a form of societal spying and citizen control could be created. This had to happen slowly to milk as much money as possible, and prevent a shock of realisation from the public.

Throughout history leaders of countries and regions needed to establish a form of control to prevent 'the beast with many heads' from becoming unruly and helped avoid a mutiny, or loss of power.A legalised USA/UK coalition was created when Menwith Hill stopped becoming an Air base and became head of domestic and international communication operations (ECHELON).

The internet was created for the public to emmerse themselves in the cyberworld, and steadily move away from writing on paper, sending letters (you will know it as snailmail), and having our lives available at the click of a button. This, unfortunately, for you and I means that for every benefit this New World has, it removes a freedom from our society.

Recent blogs of mine, have included Google arranging for our pc's to start listen to us to take sound bytes that will help individual marketing (yeh, whatever you say!), the NSA utilising ECHELON to track my typed words, Microsoft regularly hacking my computer, utilising SENSUS on my telephone to analyse my speech, and FaceIT (facial recognition) identifying us from the 4.3 million CCTV cameras in the UK.Now, with regards the title of this article:The National Security Agency (NSA) and Microsoft have recently both admitted, after it was discovered, that they had being working together closely on Windows Vista. The official version of events being, to maintain the security of all of us free, liberal citizens personal computers.

Now for the TRUTH;
The NSA and Microsoft have got together to ensure that this latest version of Windows enables the NSA to hack anybodys computer they wish, assuming it runs Windows, and thats pretty much the majority. They created backdoors into Windows that very few hackers would be able to hack, but with the NSA's skeleton key, they could access anybodys computer, be it your front room, your bedroom, or wherever you go with your PC. They can do this without you having any knowledge that it is occuring, and by utilising the Patriot Act, they can do it legally too.

Now, to answer another question, why did the Bill Gates Foundation donate such a huge amount to the AIDS trust? Simply, because with the introduction of cheap pc's, why carry on letting the poor native Africans keep dying when they can be moulded into CONSUMERS?!?!
When they have computers they can start dot com businesses, they can stop talking and writing in the conventional, dissenting way, and open their worlds up for spying, and controlling. The multi-billion dollar corporations including the BUSH administration can start the moulding process, hey, give them another few decades and they will all be eating KFC and McDonalds, and wearing NIKE and ADIDAS....hooray, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

At the same time they can wipe out whatever freedom they have, turn their oh-so oppressive regimes into trustworthy and honest democracies, remove their religion and push Chrisitianity (the only religion to trust, apparently).
What these World Controllers have done is set up the most elaborate Totalitarian regime of total societal and human control, no type, no speech, no opinions will escape their reach. Everyone will become puppets, fed with FEAR that if we dont fall into line, we will be classed as ENEMY COMBATANTS, and lose all rights as a human being and all rights to an attorney/lawyer/solicitor.

So Africa, BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID, Cos they're coming for you!

The rest of the world be afraid, stop buying Microsoft products, stop buying into the bullshit that we need to have 3G phones to snoop on our kids, when its THEM doing the snooping. You DO NOT need to have a micro chip in your arm, or a barcode, or a number. You are an intelligent human being capable of free thought, opinions, morals and ethics.....You think, therefore YOU ARE!!!

At the National ID Expo in Kansas City at the beginning of this year, Arkansas Animal Producer's Association President Michael Steenbergen asked,

"What safety studies have been conducted on the chips that are inserted into animals?"

His question was met with total silence.

Did these manufacturers not know, or were they unwilling to admit that research has confirmed that implanted microchips cause cancer?

The Institute of Experimental Pathology at Hannover Medical Schoolin Germany reported:

"An experiment using 4279 CBA/J mice of two generations was carried out to investigate the influence of parental preconceptual exposure to X-ray radiation or to chemical carcinogens.

Microchips were implanted subcutaneously in the dorsolateral back for unique identification of each animal. The animals were kept for lifespan under standard laboratory conditions.

In 36 mice a circumscribed neoplasm occurred in the area of the implanted microchip. Macroscopically, firm, pale white nodules up to 25 mm in diameter with the microchip in its center were found. Macroscopically, soft tissue tumors such as fibrosarcoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma were detected."

The Toxicology Department of Bayer Corporation in Stillwell, Kansas reported:

"Tumors surrounding implanted microchip animal identification devices were noted in two separate chronic toxicity/oncogenici ty studies using F344 rats. The tumors occurred at a low incidence rate (approximately 1%), but did result in the early sacrifice of most affected animals, due to tumor size and occasional metastases. No sex-related trends were noted."

Even if the incidence of cancer cells surrounding and caused by the Verichip micro-chips occur in only 1% of animals, it still begs the questions:

"Why has the FDA approved the micro-chipping of human beings without serious research into the long term effects of their presence within the body?"

"Why, despite concerns regarding the potential for these microchips to burn the skin, are we still allowing the promotion of Verichips in the media?"

"How much money was exchanged between the FDA and Verichip to ensure such a swift approval for human implantation?"

~Finally, If the micro-chipping of a large percentage of the human population occurs, the 1% becomes increasingly significant in the number of people developing cancer for no purpose other than societal control, and we cannot be sure of that figure in humans because of a lack of research.

So next time you see an article on Verichip finding yet another market for their precious micro-chips, just ask yourself:

"Is it worth the risk on human health, not to mention the implications it has on our civil liberties and privacy?"

Manchester Airport is to resume trials of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology because licensing changes have freed up the use of cheaper, ultra-high frequency (UHF) tags.
RFID tags, commonly used as tracking devices to improve efficiency, are available on a range of different frequencies. UHF is cheaper, more reliable and works over a wider range. But until November last year businesses needed a licence to use it.

Trials by Manchester Airport last year gave passengers RFID tags to be worn round the neck so that they could be tracked throughout the airport.
The pilots were successful but implementation costs proved prohibitive, according to head of group business development Yemmi Agbebi.
The cost of the tags, readers, network infrastructure and integration came to more than £3.2m, he says.
But now that cheaper UHF technology is licence-exempt, plans to restart the initiative are going ahead.

‘We decided on 13.56MHz tags for the initial trial, but the approval of UHF has made RFID more affordable,’ said Agbebi.

The trial will focus on improving efficiency at security, thereby increasing the time that passengers spend in the retail area. Research has shown that people spend an average of 7p a minute in Manchester Airport’s shops. The airport thinks three minutes more per passenger would generate an extra £2.3m a year.

High-street retailer Marks & Spencer is also investigating potential uses of UHF technology. The company recently extended trials of labelling clothing items and food pallets with the tags, and is reporting encouraging sales, improved stock availability and boosted efficiency.
But lower-cost UHF has yet to be accepted universally.

Supermarket giant Tesco blames complications in using UHF under EU regulations for its decision to delay na tionwide rollout of item-level RFID tagging. The company is reverting to tagging only trolleys and pallets.

Tesco says regulations limit RFID deployment to a far smaller slice of the UHF spectrum than in the US, and that technical problems with interference between readers still exists.

The costs of UHF RFID tags has dropped considerably in the past few years, says Frost & Sullivan analyst Renegarajan Srinivasan. Bulk prices have fallen from as much as $1 (53p) to 10 cents (5p), and could drop to as little as five cents by 2009.

‘Manufacturing UHF tags is much easier, and the technology offers performance benefits, such as more reliable read rates and a range often in excess of one metre,’ he said.

RFID tagging trials
Manchester Airport is restarting RFID trials because cheaper UHF technology has been made licence-exempt.

Marks & Spencer is testing UHF tags on clothes and food pallets.

UHF is cheaper, and more reliable over a wider range than lower-frequency alternatives.

~This is all very well, but what about the moral issue of being tracked, or electronically stalked?
Do we allow the multi billion corporations dictate what our commercial or consumer future entails? Do we have any rights to disagree or refuse to be tagged? Do we just sit back and foolishly believe it will protect us, and keep us safe? No, because as this article clearly highlights; They are implementing this to make more money! We are not robot slaves making cars, kept on 24 hours a day, making money, profit, and revenue for the fat cats! We are people, and as people we have the right to roam our planet freely without being accused of committing crime, because thats how i feel. Whenever I am filmed by CCTV, whenever I am hacked at home on my computer, whenever I discover that my personal details are on an ever-increasing database, I don't feel FREE anymore! I feel like a criminal, or a bad little boy who's parents need to watch his everymove because he is potentially BAD.

I am not a bad citizen, I do not commit crime, unless the crime itself is blatantly ridiculous, and not moralistic i.e Criminilizing cannabis use.

Am I not innocent until proven guilty? If I am innocent then why watch me?, why stalk my every move? Why make me feel guilty even though I haven't done anything?

This is a sad world we live in, and we may as well hand over our liberties now, clamp a big fucking chain on my leg and chain me to my neighbour, whip me with a cat o' nine tails, and stamp a 16 digit number on my forehead!~

I am writing this blog to make those of you who want to live, or believe they live, in a free democracy to WAKE UP!!

Below are a list of words taken from the ECHELON Communication and spying computer system.

I have previously posted other words, some may be repeated, but they're are hundreds, if not thousands more words that are triggering the computer system to begin recording your every move.

I am being watched!

Following a decision to ascertain whether some of these words were really of any significance, I browsed some of the obscure abbreviations.

Most of what I discovered were fairly standard government run ministry of defence websites, websites, for ALL to view. Nothing too riske, nothing really TOP SECRET, but clearly places and websites that the Western Corporate Controllers like Microsoft and Google, RIAA, MIAA, NSA, CIA etc DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT!!!

Shortly after browsing a few of these websites, my home telephone rang......

What I heard was silence, computer silence, not too dissimilar to those telephone sales computers that ring you randomly. I heard a click, and foolishly said, "hello, hello....."

I traced the number of the call to discover it was an international number. I swiftly got out my phone book and searched through a list of international dialing codes. What I was to discover horrified me, and I felt I must blog this to warn anyone out there to be very careful....

What I discovered was that, firstly, the number did not exist!!!!
Secondly, I traced the code and the number via the internet to discover, the telephone call was made by MICROSOFT!!!! NO JOKE PEOPLE!

They were making attempts to hack my computer, and no doubt extract information, and try there very hardest to make me look like a TERRORIST!

I AM NOT A TERRORIST!

I am a legally consenting adult with rights to freedom of speech (remember that?!), I have the right to be Innocent until proven guilty (at least until the fucking PATRIOT ACT was passed, which by the way removes any rights you thought you had), and I will read whatever I feel is appropriate to discover what the NEW WORLD ORDER is all about.

I will not bomb parliament, nor will I bomb the White House, nor will I cause any act of terror to any human being or corporation. I am not a BAD Person, I am not an EVILDOER! Yet, because of the books I buy, the websites I browse, the opinions I hold, the morals I hold, the ethics I believe in , MAY be translated to the powers that be, that I am a potential threat to NATIONAL SECURITY!!!

The world IS being controlled, and to control us and manipulate us further, they need to introduce, yes, you guessed it, THOUGHT CRIME!!

Yes, you are right, I would like to see George. W. Bush fry, as so many other people would, but that does not mean I can be arsed getting of my settee at home, I would never willingly hurt anyone, I am a fucking pacifist for christs sake, but to INFER that I am a potential risk, is PURE BULLSHIT!!

The problem lies in THEM SPYING ON US!! If they weren't spying on us all the time, then the list below of keywords, or trigger words, or spook words, whatever you want to call them, simply wouldnt exist. Therefore, I would not have typed them into Google.

Thus, rendering that citizen an outcast, unable to buy provisions, unable to buy anything or go anywhere, they will have no option but to conform to WHATEVER you pass through parliament, or congress, for FEAR that the Chip will be switched off. We all know that CHINA suffers appalling censorship and almost totalitarianesque dictatorship, which by the way, GOOGLE has helped to do, but WE ALSO HAVE SERIOUS CENSORSHIP.

Some I can understand, such as various pornography sites, I think most of us agree with that one, but important information is being censored, and my argument is this:

"If we don't have the information, or knowledge of what is going on in our world, How can we call it a FREE WORLD?!?!"

"How can we know if the way our society is heading, is the best route for society, just because big multi-billion dollar corporations say so??? I dont think so, they are looking at how FINANCIALLY VIABLE the future society is, not what is morally and ethically RIGHT!!!

I should advise you not to type those words in the ECHELON program into your search engine, but hey, I am too much of a believer in what is RIGHT!!!

The Department of Homeland Security is testing a data-mining program that would attempt to spot terrorists by combing vast amounts of information about average Americans (and secretly, the UK), such as flight and hotel reservations.

Similar to a Pentagon program killed by Congress in 2003over concerns about civil liberties, the new program could take effectas soon as next year.But researchers testing the system are likely to already have violated privacy laws by reviewing real information, instead of fake data, according to a source familiar with a congressional investigation intothe $42.5 million program.

Bearing the unwieldy name Analysis, Dissemination, Visualization,Insight and Semantic Enhancement (ADVISE), the program is on the cutting edge of analytical technology that applies mathematical algorithms to uncover hidden relationships in data. The idea is to troll a vast sea of information, including audio and visual, and extract suspicious people,places and other elements based on their links and behavioral patterns.

The privacy violation, described in a Government Accountability Office report that is due out soon, was one of three by separate government data mining programs, according to the GAO.
"Undoubtedly there are likely to be more," GAO Comptroller David M. Walker said in a recent congressional hearing.
The violations involved the government's use of citizens' private information without proper notification to the public and using the data for a purpose different than originally envisioned, said the source, who declined to be identified because the report is not yet public.

The issue lies at the heart of the debate over whether pattern-based data mining -- or searching for bad guys without a known suspect -- cansucceed without invading people's privacy and violating their civil liberties.DHS spokesman Larry Orluskie said officials had not yet read the GAO report and could not comment.

Another DHS official who helped develop ADVISE said that the program wastested on only "synthetic" data, which he described as "real data" made anonymous so it could not be traced back to people.
The system has been tested in four DHS pilot programs, including one at the Office of Intelligence and Analysis, to help analysts more effectively sift through mounds of intelligence reports and documents.

In another pilot at a government laboratory in Livermore, Calif., that assessed foreign and domestic terror groups' ability to develop weapons of mass destruction, ADVISE tools were found "worthy of further development," DHS spokesman Christopher Kelly said.The DHS is completing reports on the privacy implications of all fourpilot programs.
Such assessments are required on any government technology program that collects people's personally identifiable information, according to DHS guidelines.

The DHS official who worked on ADVISE said it can be used for a range of purposes. An analyst might want, say, to study the patterns of behaviorof the Washington area sniper and look for similar patterns elsewhere,he said. The bottom line is to help make analysts more effective atdetecting terrorist intent.ADVISE has progressed further than the program killed by Congress in2003, Total Information Awareness, which was being developed at theDefense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

Yet it was partlyADVISE's resemblance to Total Information Awareness that led lawmakerslast year to request that the GAO review the program. Though Total Information Awareness never got beyond an early research phase,unspecified subcomponents of the program were allowed to be funded underthe Pentagon's classified budget, which deal largely with foreigners' data.

The Disruptive Technology Office, a research arm of the intelligence community, is working on another program that would sift through massive amounts of data, such as intelligence reports and communications records, to detect hidden patterns.
The program focuses on foreigners.Officials declined to elaborate because it is classified.Officials at the office of the director of national intelligence stressed that pattern analysis research remains largely theoretical.
They said the more effective approach is link analysis, or looking for bad guys based on associations with known suspects. They said that theyseek to guard Americans' privacy, focusing on synthetic and foreigners' data.
Information on Americans must be relevant to the mission, they said.

Still, privacy advocates raise concerns about programs based on sheer statistical analysis because of the potential that people can be wrongly accused.

"They will turn up hundreds of soccer teams, family reunionsand civil war re-enactors whose patterns of behavior happen to be thesame as the terrorist network," said Jim Harper, director of information policy studies at the Cato Institute.

But Robert Popp, former DARPA deputy office director who founded National Security Innovations, a Boston firm working on technologies for intelligence agencies, said that research anecdotally shows that pattern analysis has merit.

In 2003, he said, DARPA researchers using the technique helped interrogators at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay,Cuba, assess which detainees posed the biggest threats.

Popp said that analysts told him that "detainees classified as 'likely a terrorist' were in fact terrorists, and in no cases were detainees who were not terrorists classified as 'likely a terrorist.'

"Some lawmakers are demanding greater program disclosure. A bipartisan bill co-sponsored by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick J.Leahy (D-Vt.) would require the Bush administration to report toCongress the extent of its data-mining programs.
