Narcissus (Greek Tragedy?)

There are a variety of differing versions of the Greek God Narcissus (Narcissism). Some say he was so beautiful, up there with the Adonis's of the world, and was advised never to look at his reflection. One day he discovered a pond and found himself staring incessently at himself in the reflection of the pond.

It is written that he stared at himself continuously believing he was staring at a perfectly beautiful water spirit, until he leaned over to kiss the spirit, and discovered the image he had been staring at was of himself. He then drowned himself as he could not come to terms with his own blinding, obsessive vanity.

Other stories say that he was found with an arrow in his back after spurning the continual advances of others, who found his beauty so unbelievable, and found his own beauty in his reflection so perfect and unworthy of others.

Such tales exist, but I am the Narcissist Hunter, and that will always remain. My purpose on this planet is to play the narcissist at his own game, like a game of chess. For almost thirty years I have been surrounded by narcissists who have systematically destroyed all that have held true in my heart. They have removed any innocence i had, and erased my childhood.

I prefer to believe that the arrow found in Narcissus' back was fired from my own bow, and I feel no guilt for his death.

At the exact place where Narcissus was killed or committed suicide grew the Narcissus flower, known to all of us as the family of the Daffodil.

Each year I make a point of carefully picking the daffodils, especially the albino daffodils, as they most reflect the original Narcissus flower.

Also an interesting fact is that inside the sap of the Narcissus family of flowers lays a poison that kills all other flowers nearby. A fitting end to the story of Narcissus.

Peace and Love in a war torn world x
