The Nothingness
The stifling boredom sends numbness to my head,
searching in vain my memories
for something that was said.
Only grains of sand with no seeds of greenery,
baroness, and bleakness,
no sense of scenery.
Clutching and grasping, the silence is cold
clawing at something,
or anything I can hold.
The rigidness so empty and I'm all alone,
petrified and lost,
I am just skin and bone.
Relentlessly searching and grappling at straws,
the nothingness seeps
and creeps out of my pores.
The ticking and tocking,
this worlds an empty shell,
staring at the stars whilst descending t'ward hell.
Please give me a sign, its something I have earned,
after sixteen years of teaching
nothing has been learnt.
I am left in a vacuum,
please just show me the way,
My casket is calling on this nihilistic day.

The Catholic Nazi's
The Vatican claims that Nazism was a pagan phenomenon, opposed to the Catholic Church, and that the Catholic hierarchy never aided the Nazis. But if this is so, what is the content of the much-praised supposed Vatican apology regarding its role in the Holocaust? Consider the words of Joseph Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict XVI. He was Pope John Paul II's top advisor on theology when he wrote:
"'Even if the most recent, loathsome experience of the Shoah (Holocaust) was perpetrated in the name of an anti-Christian ideology, which tried to strike the Christian faith at its Abrahamic roots in the people of Israel, it cannot be denied that a certain insufficient resistance to this atrocity on the part of Christians can be explained by an inherited anti-Judaism present in the hearts of not a few Christians.'"
--Ratzinger as quoted by Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League press release welcoming the papacy of Joseph Ratzinger.
Ratzinger's apology amounts to saying, "I'm sorry for what some other people might have done."
But the evidence shows that:
* a) The Catholic Church hierarchy - especially Eugenio Pacelli, before and after he became Pope Pius XII - aided the Nazis. Indeed, Pacelli played a key role in making Hitler the dictator of Germany;
* b) The Catholic Church was active in Nazi movements outside Germany especially in the Baltic region and in the Balkans, where it helped run the Nazi puppet State of Croatia. After the war, the Vatican sheltered Nazi war criminals.
* c) As for Nazism being a "Godless ideology," as Pope John Paul II put it, the fact is the Nazis used Christian symbolism, worked closely with Christian churches and based their attacks on Jews in part on Christian texts, with which Europeans were familiar. The use of these texts was not attacked by the Church.
The pictures tell the tale...
The Papal Paedophiles
So, yet again the Catholic church and its 'Holier than thou' attitude continue to deny their involvement in anything that could be construed as 'wrong' or 'bad'. They are a bunch of hypocritical, sanctimonious fools who protect their own priests no matter what. The Catholic church are the reason why adults who have been sexually abused as children cannot prosecute the paedophiles who abused them unless they come forward straight away. Most people abused as children take years, and even decades to begin to gain the strength needed to come forward about their abuse. The 'real' reason the Catholic church ensured that the law cannot be changed in both America and Great Britain is because:
- In America in 2004, 1,100 cases of child sex abuse were lodged against Catholic clergymen!!
- Between 1950 and 2002, 4% of all Priests in the U.S have been accused of child sex abuse. That 4% equates to 4,450 'individual' Priests, and 80% of those abused were 'boys'!!
...and Catholicism still, to this day, refuses to accept 'gays'. Hence, my reasons for calling them hypocrites!!
Since the election of the new Pope, it looks like the Catholic church is planning on staying firmly rooted in its prehistoric, draconian beliefs. Their perverted self-importance, allows them to hide behind God to pursue their own mega-lo-manic, hedonistic and 'homopaedic' tendencies, which can only exist for so long before our civilised race abolishes their sentiments entirely....I hope!!

Who the Hell are.......THE BRIDGE GANG ?!?!?
Right, let me just get one thing straight. There are plenty of bands out there; hundreds, thousands in fact, but sorting the wheat from the chaff is not so easy. Most of the problems we have in this day and age is actually being able to find these bands, as the radiowaves are clogged up with the tar of mediocrity. With John Peel dead (God bless his soul) things don't look set to change, and the once popular pirate radio stations have died long since. Pushed out by the establishment scapegoating them as the cause of radio interference for the emergency services....I digress.
The fanzines, and the amateur online websites are the only chance people get nowadays. That, and attending the small venues, that unfortunately, are few and far between unless you live in big cities like Manchester and London. So word of mouth is the only medium left for their 15 minutes of fame. The underground is there, don't get me wrong, it's just as alive as ever, but its just more difficult to find. Its more of a 'who you know' thing nowadays.
The Bridge Gang are one of those 'special' bands that one only comes across through 'word of mouth' or sheer luck. They desperately need promotion because, lets face it, they need to be heard by the masses.
They would be the first to oppose 'selling out', which is not what I refer to. I'm talking about necessary 'exposure'.
They are a 3 piece hailing from the Hackney region, of London. They have been together only a relatively short space of time, but when you get a band that gels as well as The Bridge Gang, that matters none.
They have recently been signed to a small Independent label called DogBox Records, who have a number of other artists under them, such as 'Luxembourg' and the awesome, 'Mitten'.
The Bridge Gang have just released their first, download only single, entitled...
'Pangs of Guilt / Sarah's Brother' (www.dogbox.co.uk)
What a fucking start I can tell you. 'Sarah's brother', is a syncopated, rhythmic gem. Well paced and melodic with refreshing guitar trills. An exploration into the vocalist/guitarist, Jose' Ross' emphatic views on the 'National Front'. The song grows on you in an instant without being predictable and repetitively frustrating. I can imagine it becoming a bit of an anthem or signature track hotly anticipated at each gig they play. A clever 'marching' bassline ,by Miss Lucy Dee, keeps the whole track blissfully smooth and is the necessary backbone for the strong, stomping rhythm.
'Pangs of Guilt', immediately invites you in to The Bridge Gang's realm, with a....wait for it, 'angst-ridden' ( I know you hate that term!), rock n' roll riff that gives you a sense it was just destined to be written. You cannot help but feel the haunting overtones of Frank Black, but their style is by no means a replica; more of a subtle, respectful acknowlegement, of sorts. The drumming , by Mr Bret Blue, build and build at the beginning, until they kick you in the fucking head only to continue on their exuberant journey by riding the rhythmical waves of one of the best, punk based tracks, which I can honestly say, have heard in the last few months, if not all year!!
This is another one of those tracks which will have crowds going absolutely ape shit at their gigs, to which I have not, as yet, had the good fortune to attend.
I look forward to what the future has to bring for The Bridge Gang, if their other tracks are half as good as these two tracks then we are all in for a treat!!
So, If anyone out there gives a damn for the future of guitar bands, you will make a point of downloading their single, and mentioning The Bridge Gang wherever, and to whoever you come across who has an understanding of 'real' music!
Just remember kids, whatever you do....... "Don't go out when your blades are blunt!!"

Restores your faith in humanity.
A little tale...
This is a quick story about the bond formed between a little girl
and a group of building workers. It's allegedly true and makes you want
to believe in the goodness of people and that there is hope for the
human race. A young family moved into a house next door to a vacant
building plot..
One day Willie and a gang of building workers turned up to start
building a house on the empty plot. The young family's 5-year-old
daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next
door and started talking with the workers. She hung around and
eventually the builders, all with hearts of gold, more or less adopted
the little girl as a sort of project mascot. They chatted with her, let
her sit with them while they had tea and lunch breaks, and gave her
little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
They even gave her her very own hard hat and gloves.
At the end of the first week they presented her with a pay envelope
containing two pounds in 10p coins. The little girl took her 'pay' home
to her mother who suggested that they take the money she had received
to the bank the next day to start a savings account.
When they got to the bank the cashier was tickled pink listening
to the little girl telling her about her 'work' on the building site and
the fact she had a 'pay packet'. "You must have worked very hard to
earn all this" said the bank cashier. The little girl proudly replied,
"I
worked all last week with the men building a big house." "My goodness
gracious," said the cashier, "Will you be working on the house again
this week, as well?"
The little girl thought for a moment and said...........
"I think so. Provided those cunts at Jewson deliver the fucking
bricks!"
The Tax Inspector and The Rabbi...
At the end of the tax year the Tax Office sent an inspector to audit the
books of a synagogue. While he was checking the books he turned to the
Rabbi and said, "I notice you buy a lot of candles. What do you do with
the candle drippings?"
"Good question," noted the Rabbi. "We save them up and send them back to
the candle makers, and every now and then they send us a free box of
candles."
"Oh," replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual
question had a practical answer.
But on he went, in his obnoxious way: "What about all these matzo
purchases? What do you do with the crumbs?"
"Ah, yes," replied the Rabbi,
realising that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable
question. "We collect them and send them back to the manufacturers, and
every now and then they send a free box of matzo balls."
"I see," replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster
the know-it-all Rabbi. "Well, Rabbi," he went on, "what do you do with
all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?"
"Here, too, we do not waste," answered the Rabbi. "What we do is save up
all the foreskins and send them to the Tax Office, and about once a year
they send us a complete dick.

Did you hear the one about Michael Jackson???
Q: Have you heard about Michael Jackson's New Book?
A: It's called "The In's and Out's of Child Rearing”.
Q. When is it bed time at Michael Jackson’s house?
A. When the big hand is on the little hand!
Q. Why did Michael Jackson decide to have a boy of his own?
A. Because it's too expensive to rent them at $2 million a pop!
Q. Why do the kids always leave Neverland Ranch on time in the morning?
A. Because they got their shit packed the night before.
Q. Why does Michael Jackson like twenty six year olds?
A. Because there are twenty of them.
Q. Did you hear that Michael Jackson was taken to the Emergency Room?
A. He was choking on a small bone!
Q. What's the difference between Michael Jackson and greyhound racing?
A. The greyhounds wait for the hares to come out.
My all time favourite....
The Pope has issued a proclamation on Michael Jackson. If he hears any more
allegations about little boys, the Pope says he'll have no choice but to make
him a priest.
Also, I just heard that Michael Jackson swore on the Popes life that he never touched those children!!!
~Note - Michael Jackson is being ridiculed for being a sick, twisted, devious fucking PAEDOPHILE, and not because he is BLACK. This goes out to all the White Supremacist web pages I accidentally stumbled upon whilst searching for Michael Jackson jokes!!!
It seems they are having a field day with his trial, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.
Menwith Hill ( the home of Big Brother himself!!)
Menwith Hill is the worlds largest monitoring communications station and is situated just outside Harrogate, North Yorkshire, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Its official title is R.A.F Menwith Hill which is misleading since it is actually run by the US National Security Agency (NSA).
The following words have recently been discovered to be the last 'known' dictionary used by the 'spy' technology at Menwith Hill. This technology (ECHELON) automatically records our telephone conversations, emails, fax transmissions, telex's, and mobile phone SMS texts.
When the words (below) were/are used, the base automatically records the content, and a large team of individuals who have signed the Official Secrets Act have the task of identifying the person's involved, and the reasons why the specific words have triggered the system.
This is a direct breach of our personal liberty and is, as usual, all done in the name on National Security. As you can see by the list, not all the entries warrant the need for this intrusive, and invasive spying on British citizens. These are the only words that we currently know about. Imagine what else they could be listening in to, or reading about when you innocently write/phone/text friends, lovers and family?? This website is no doubt currently being monitored due to the inclusion of these words, but due to the fact that so many of the words are used in this context will immediately lower their suspicions. The reasons I have included all of these words is to potentially create more work for these government agents to do, hence, less time spent on 'citizen spying'. So heres to you Big Brother...

Lest we forget ...Bill the Bard!
From fairest creatures we desire increase,
That thereby beauty's rose might never die,
But as the riper should by time decease,
His tender heir might bear his memory:
But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes,
Feed'st thy light's flame with self-substantial fuel,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel.
Thou that art now the world's fresh ornament
And only herald to the gaudy spring,
Within thine own bud buries thy content
And, tender churl, makest waste in niggarding.
Pity the world, or else this glutton be,
To eat the world's due, by the grave and thee.

The Drowning Man
Follow what I have to say, and I will make you see,
though the journey will be long, the truth is always there with me,
mistakes are expected and time will slow you down,
but thankfully you will feel brand new.
The man amongst the men and the tales of forgotten times,
as the drink goes down the stories swell, the old man's lost his mind,
and nodding like you've never heard the legend that was he,
Pinnochio's nose continues to grow.
The laughter and the sorrows, at times I want to scream,
but returning from my travels has enabled me to see,
A fallen man is struggling to balance against gravity,
and his wife will give him hell when he gets home.
So its one more for the road, and one for the sidewalk,
the drowning man has sails tonight, nothing can stop his talk,
so undignified he struggles and repeats another tale,
and the barman has to call it a night.
The lonliness of life itself, the darkness is coming fast,
and helping each other through the storm that broke the mast,
the dysentery and cholera that killed the older men,
Has been replaced with alcohol.
So follow what I have to say and I will make you see,
though the journey will be long the truth is always there with me,
mistakes are expected and time will slow you down,
But thankfully you will feel brand new.

Democracy? Hypocrisy?
Well, after a fairly sleepless night of about 4 hours due to my little baby girl crying all night, I decided to get up and take the dog for a long walk. During my walk I was being invaded yet again by passionate anger. Despite respecting the beautiful countryside and the fresh breeze that was blowing around me as the sun was newly rising, I couldnt help getting frustrated. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.
With the general election getting closer, I felt is was only right to skip the planned topics I had for discussion and get my two pennies worth on this subject.
Firstly, We claim that we live in a Democracy. A democracy is defined by being, "...a form of government under which the power to govern the laws and stuctures of government lies, ultimately, with the citizenry." This is what democracy should be, however, my problem lies with the fact that we the citizens do not have ultimate power or control, only perceived power or control. We all know that there are really only 3 supposedly differing parties that have any chance of gaining leadership. The Lib Dems are coming about as close as they ever have done, but that is still not enough. The reality is we have only two choices; left and right wing. Well, that was how it used to be anyway. A party these days avoids any kind of radicalism or potentially revolutionary behaviour. Every statement made by their politicians is highly screened, censored, cleaned up and diluted, until there is nothing left in their statements anymore other than the most inoffensive drivel you are ever likely to read, or hear. The statements I have read leading up to the coming election this year read more like an astrology chart than anything else. Everyone can read into them whatever they want to, because nobody is actually saying anything for fear of what the opinion polls might say.
Now, opinion polls, in theory should reflect just that, opinions of the citizenry. That remember is exactly what democracy is supposed to be about isnt it? What opinion polls actually show is the result of carefully manipulated false information titrated to the public through the various forms of media throughout the last year. It doesn't matter whether you read the Independent, the Financial Times, the tory Daily Mail, or the epsilon papers like The Sun and The Mirror, they all have varying degrees of propoganda directed at them. The only difference is the government spin doctors and their smear nurses ensure the propoganda is specifically directed at the intellectual capabilities of the reader of each paper. That combined with the raw information being filtered by the various reporters and column writers ensures a well hidden ( even to them) , and effective land mine of political manipulation. Thus, it appears that the government are in fact working for us, the taxpaying voter, when in fact, we believe only what they want us to believe. If we only have two or three potential variations of change within our country, then the average person looks only at those options. If there were 6-8 alternatives, then we could realistically say we lived in a democratic society. This would also allow room for less scrutiny, and more radical approaches to political change. Instead with have now got the situation of apathetic voters, to which the tories are encouraging, as it may well help them win this election.
Such safe politics would be fine if the education system, the health service, the emergency services, mortgage rates, tax in general were reasonable, but they're not, in fact they're far from acceptable. The situation is one of citizen apathy at politics in general because people feel they're in nothing they can do about it, so it doesn't really make any difference who wins the election, and that is how I feel. There may be subtle differences but at the end of the day, I am looking for another party to take this country forward, and not the motley crew we currently have.
One particular incident that highlighted 'safe politics' happened recently when the Houses of Parliament had their chance to radically alter the current education system by exploring the downfalls of the A levels and GCSE's. As most top level teachers will tell you they are outdated and in deseperate need of being amended. The government chose the luke warm approach yet again, and amended the odd word on the bill of education and stayed well away from any action which could be interpreted as being potentially risky.
The same occurred with the laws on Cannabis usage. Cannabis is one of the most heavily researched plants and herbs in existence today. A 5 year trial has just been completed by a Dr Geoffrey Guy who critically studied the herbs potential medicinal properties. The trial found that Cannabis is indeed a unique pain reliever which comes as no surprise to many foundations such as THC4MS who have been, illegally for a number of years, supplying carefully assessed patients 'donated' Cannabis in the form of cakes to ease their physical pains. A recent court case involving one of the so-called 'suppliers' of these cakes resulted in a harrowing trial where the Judge warned her she could be locked up for 14 years. 14 years!!! Just for helping our fellow man ease their suffering because an outdated, non-radical government wasn't prepared to pull their finger out and open their eyes to the realities of life today. They are afraid of actually 'leading' this country for fear of offending anyone, lest a reduction in votes. The current law on paedophilia only allows someone to get put away for 12 years, despite the severity of their crimes!!! I could go on about their half-arsed attempts at lowering the Misuse of Drugs Act class, then systematically increasing the sentences for Class B drugs. Talk about moving the goalposts. I shall debate this topic in a later post, and give it the space I feel it needs.
It is strange how a government ( and by that I am not only referring to Labour) can be so radically opposed to being radical, yet when it comes to acts of war, and instilling unfounded fears regarding terrorism, they are highly outspoken, or were before the election was getting closer. For how many years did we have a genuine reason to be afraid with the IRA bombing our country literally left, right and centre? Does anyone remember one of the most recent bombing of the Arndale Shopping Centre in Manchester? Did the government say anything about it?...NO! Did they tell us we should all be extra vigilant and be genuinely terrified? NO! Did we stop going to Ireland on holiday, or begin fearing the Irish as a whole? NO!
The point of this is that the 'real' terrorists here are the military powers of America and Britain. The fear that they continuously instill into the public is causing the real terror. We are led to believe that we are 'lucky' that we have not had a similar atrocity to the 9/11 disaster, and all thanks to the extra vigilant National Security preventing 'regular' attempts by Islamic Fundamentalists to do so. Much of this is 'misdirection' on the governments part; that, and the obvious racist nature of Christianity versus Muslims. The Quran frequently warns of the threat of Western culture that could potentially impact on America's plans for Global domination, which is a very REAL threat, and not a paranoid delusion as they would make you believe. In my opinion, the instilling of fear into the mass population is a pre-requisite that allows the government to siphon money directly from our annual budget to pay for all the unecessary National Security. Once the money is ring fenced for National Security, it no longer has to be declared and no one can ask for an itemised bill because that would jeopardise our liberty, independance, and national safety. This seems to me to be the easiest way of treating the public as mindless slaves so we can work harder to earn more taxes for things we are 'told' we NEED in order to maintain the status quo, when in reality there is only a minor threat of any one of us being at the forefront of an Al Qaeda attack.
Let us not forget at the end of the day what a government really is. It is nothing more than a huge, global profit-making organisation and the Politicians are the salesmen, and the Ministers are the Managing Directors and Chairmans. The government, whether under the guise of Labour, Conservatives, or the Liberal Democrats, have one sole interest.....making money.
They have no real desire for environmental issues unless they are profit making, take the lack of interest in promoting non-petroleum based vehicles on our roads, and America's obstinance regarding signing the Kyoto agreement. As a country we are already well behind meeting the targets of cutting CO2 emissions by 20% by 2010, in fact there was a rise in 2003 by almost 2%!!!
The governments have no real interest in Humanitarian needs of a society, as previously discussed above unless there is a cash payout at the end of it. They certainly have no interest in the health of the nation because otherwise they would address the serious concerns of binge drinking and excessive alcohol consumption sweeping through the country. In fact, they contradicted themselves lately when giving a reason for not legalising Cannabis they said that by making it more available research has proved it would increase consumption of the drug, then on the other hand they say that by increasing the licensing hours to drinking establishments to 24 hourly, they would somehow reduce consumption of alcohol. The word, Bullshit, springs to mind. Again, I will discuss in a later post how the government uses all of the physically dependant narcotics to control the populous, and requires the vast consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, and prescription medications to budget the whole country, regardless of the cost to the psychological and physical health of its citizenry. The move to abolish cigarettes has arrived, not through caring for the 'Health of the Nation', as they call it, by increasing the cost of cigarettes. They increased the cost to make up for the shortfall in revenue because people were already beginning to quit due to health risks. The disadvantage to the government was that because they were still having to fork out for the physical health damage of smoking like emphysema and lung cancer, and given the fact that most people were now buying their cigarettes duty free from 'some bloke in the pub'.
The government realised they couldn't maintain the increase in the cost of a packet of fags, I mean who is going to pay £10 a packet?? So, lo and behold, they make the 'caring' decision to abolish those deadly cigarettes, and suddenly after many decades of campaigning by anti-smoking groups they finally appear to have listened, and now take a complete U-turn and want to ban it in all pubs and restaurants and anywhere that people are. Different story when they were making a profit on them, wasn't it? How stupid do they think we are???
Again, this is just one of thousands of situations where the government is less concerned with the 'Health of the Nation' and more concerned with the 'Health of their Bank Balance'.
The reason for this post is simple.
With the election just around the corner, do the right thing, and when you are comparing and contrasting the parties various manifesto's, take the time to read between the lines, and look for the potential 'pot of gold' behind each 'hidden' agenda.
The Decline of Western Civilisation
Now, just for the record I am not as paranoid as some of my posts would make you believe. The truth is, they really are out to get us haha!!
No honestly, This is just a subject which fills me with curiousity. In a way its similar to the concepts of how science fiction has, on so many occasions, paved the way for actual science. I am interested in the future because I care about the world that I live in and the world that will be, for our children, and their children.
I strongly feel that, coming from a number of small Scottish villages not too dissimilar to the place that George Orwell wrote 1984, enables me to see the contrast of the ultra-modern urban centres against the quaint, and basic, yet in many ways superior, rural areas. The vast chasm that used to exist between the two unfortunately becomes smaller each day, as everything from satellite television, broadband and mobile phone networks expand to engulf even the smallest islands of Scotland. This I feel does have its benefits, but It begs the question, "Will the negative impact on small village life be irreversibly affected?" I hope not.
It pains me at times when i watch and read about ancient 'hidden' tribes in the last true frontiers left such as the great Amazon rainforest. I watch and wince at the young children who no longer wear the simple garments of animal skins worn by their forefathers. They now adorn 'Adidas' and 'Nike' T-shirts, to which they think is fantastic. It is different. Modern clothing is comfortable, and stylish, and so far away from what their parents and grandparents wear, which lets face it, is everything the average teenager is looking for as they develop. Do we really want this to happen? Do we really want a future where everyone is the same?
It has already happened that many of these tribes people have forgotten or shyed away from their native upbringings in search of a greater, more wondrous world. It reminds me of the story of Dick Whittington going off in search of London, where the streets are paved with gold, only to find himself living alone, apart from a family of rats.
These children do not realise that all they will find in Western Civilisation is a dead, superficial, materialistic world where gradually people are forgetting how to even cook for themselves. Where children grow up not knowing what farmyard animals are, or where their food comes from, or what vegetables are. A world where everything is manufactured, packaged, and excessively advertised. A world where people do not know how to look after themselves without requiring paid services for everything from eating their breakfast, to washing, brushing their teeth, and journeying reasonable distances.
These children are the lucky ones. They could choose to stay in their tribes, and learn from the elders the true meaning of being at one with mother nature, and existing in a state of equilibrium with the planet instead of murdering it in the way the Western Civilisation is. These children can learn the many hundreds of uses that the various plants and herbs can offer in the jungle habitat. If they want to wash, they can use certain substances found on leaves that act as an antibacterial soap along with pure, natural streams and rivers. They can use other leaves for shelter when the rains fall, they can use other plants and herbs which offer resistance and antidotes to poisons and illnesses. They can eat and drink in abundance without having to earn money, pay taxes, and go to a shop to spend. They are the lucky ones.
If I were to go to the Amazon Rainforest which has long been a dream of mine, I would be dead in less than half a day without a native guide to do everything for me, I could learn what they know but it would take a lifetime of learning at least. It will have to remain a dream, and instead I will focus on making this Western world, My Western world, as close to that world as I feasibly can.
Its now 3 am and its time for bed. Sweet Dreams, EyeCeyE, Sweet Dreams!!

BIG BROTHER really is WATCHING YOU!!!
I finished reading the book, 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley at 4pm today. I put the book down, I had goose pimples, despite the fairly predicable ending. I feel like I should maybe change my name by deed poll to John Savage....the similarities he and i share is almost uncanny.
Just when you begin to feel that this world is an empty shell of inequality, control and see only false, or at best, superficial liberty, the feeling that you are not alone in this world in experiencing such oppression somehow diminishes the wholehearted despair that envelopes me for most of my days.
I have resigned myself to the fact that i have to live in a world with the repetitive propoganda of advertisments on the t.v and radio, and to a lesser extent the advertisements in newspapers and magazines. To be honest, I hate parts of myself, especially the parts that find myself, either having a bath or out shopping when i discover i am humming, and hearing in my head, catchy slogans that have systematically been played sooooo many times that i cannot get them out of my head anymore.
'Go on...give the dog a phone!', 'Sainsburys... making life taste better!!', or 'Washing machines live longer with Calgon!'...the list is endless, and the fucking irritating jingles that go with them grate at my conscious mind like a rat gnawing through a tin box, or a fork scraping across a ceramic plate. This is nothing short of noise and visual pollution....or better still, lets call it 'marketing pollution'.
If i was given the choice I would gladly pay a small sum of money through my cable or satellite network just to abolish advertisements on t.v. I know most people would say, stop watching t.v, but thats easier said than done, besides, some t.v is useful. Mainly the educative documentaries, or the wildlife programmes, and some of the news channels have their uses. I also occasionally like to listen to and watch classic fm, as I find classical music one of the least polluting forms of music that actually enhances my emotional self, whilst stimulating mainly positive vibes that can benefit my day. As opposed to the bullshit American power pop prom rock that generally plays on MTV, you know who i'm talking about...weezer, green day, to name but a few.
Even if the adverts don't directly get you, and i know that everyone believes that they are not directly influenced by advertisments, but have a look in your home....just have a quick glance around. Even if you have never even seen the adverts for some products, you have found out about them through word of mouth maybe. Or maybe you just bought them out of a belief that they were the best....or that they are 'necessary'.
Take mobile phones/Cell phones for example. Anyone who doesn't own one below the age of 55 is frowned upon, and asked, ' What if there is an emergency?', or 'What if i need to get hold of you?'. Well my answer is this....'What if????'
As a race we have survived for approx. 3 million years since Mitochondrian Eve's time and only in the last ten years have we developed this 'need' to require a telephone to be at hand 24/7. It is becoming a joke. What people are forgetting is to ask the question, as previously stated, 'is it necessary?', and if not, then why are we constantly bombarded with companies such as Siemens, Orange, Vodaphone, T-Mobile, encouraging us all to sign up to contracts with hidden costs, by highlighting the free text messages, and the option of downloading oh so many more irritating jingles that i am now forced to listen to on the bus, in shops, or fucking everywhere!!!
The government and the security agencies used to be able to pin point exactly where you used your mobile phone from within 20 metres, but with it now being 'necessary' to buy a G3 phone, yes thats right its not easy peasy, its 'easy G3!'. People are now able to be tracked to one feet thanks to the ever watchful eye of the satellites in the sky. Now of course most people aren't bothered by this because people feel they're not going to be watched, its only if you commit a crime like murder that the technology with be used....wrong!!
The technology is encouraged because it enables the powers that be to not only ascertain your exact location, but combined with the fact that every time you go shopping in your local shopping centre, or town, you are filmed by CCTV cameras up to 300 times!!!
Again, not a problem to most people, but you combine that with the RFID microchips now attached to many items of clothing (i.e Benetton) and soon all items in supermarkets will have them attached, they will be able to target the 'consumer' i.e YOU, and know everything in real time. Where exactly you are, with the help of your bluetooth mobile, the facial recognition software attached to the CCTV cameras, and the RFID chipped products you buy and carry with you. They will know whether you have children or not, how old the children are, what your average income is, what size figure you have, how much food you eat ( this combined with the so-called loyalty cards you possess), whether you have spots, the runs, or whether or not you are on your period. All this can be, and is logged to build up a profile of you and your family, and worst of all, without your knowledge.
Then they can target your phone, your letter box, and your emails with specific junk, and spam, to further pollute your life, because you would be amazed how much they can influence everything you do.
That concludes todays rant into why i hate 'marketing pollution', and how it is guaranteed to get progessively worse as we subject ourselves to the so-called needs being constantly 'pushed' at us worse than the drugdealers at the school gates.........
Next time in...The World of EyeCeyE, I delve into the infringements of personal liberties further with... 'How the Government uses us as Consumerist Slaves!', 'The Decline of Western Civilisation', and 'The Chemical control of Society'
